I am really sorry

Earlier I mentioned its been a bizarre few weeks... the amount of deaths I have dealt with is just crazy... not that they are my personal ones, but co-workers - which is almost like extended family. So I have had my fill of sympathy cards.

This one actually has a funny story... though I didn't think so at first.

Here is first card:

So here is the story, I finished the front of the card. I was looking around for the Peach Parfait card stock that I had laying out from another card for the inside, so in the meantime I moved this one forward... While finding the cardstock and the scalloped punch, I was thinking "I should put away the ink" since I am working with vanilla cardstock... which is when I realized I put the card, on the ink pad .. GASP!!!! I stomped my feet. Jumped up and down... and since it was at night, I didn't scream - but would have and then was thankful I took a picture of the CLEAN card,  since I would now have to fix another one for my recipient. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I finished the inside, and then reproduced it again.

Then just inked the outside of the card- which my daughter says is "fine", I am not sure which FINE it is though... LOL!

The Oops card:

Lesson learned: put away the junk mail and other stuff that is on my crafting table so I have more room to work and I am not working on my fiancee's art desk/table, since its much smaller! ... I was going to say - NOT to use Vanilla cardstock! LOL {{kidding}}.. I do not think I can be trusted with the fragile color that Very Vanilla brings!

Have a great day!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hug the ones you love!

I work on a small desk and have done this same thing more than once -- your inked edges are a great save of an otherwise disastrous situation!
Personally I think both cards are beautiful!

I think your card looks great! I'm always cleaning my desk, I only have a limited amount of space and I take it ALL up stamping LOL!

Your card is so pretty! I love the added sponging! Your desk story sounds all too familiar......

I had some time to look at some of your other creations and I had to giggle at your story....not that you had to make so many sympathy cards (so sorry!) but of your oops. You don't know how many oopses I've had to cover up! Great card, too. Love the rose, so very pretty in peach.

Just remember it is never an oops moment, just tell them its a special effect you have been working on. Personally I like the oops one with the extra ink around the edges.

The design is gorgeous! Love both. I might even like the sponged one the best. You know what they say, mistakes are just opportunities for embellishment! I added a couple small stamped flowers to a card tonite to cover some ink from the edge of the rubber.
