Heavy heart Thursday

It is with a very heavy heart  that I write... it is a very sad day here in my household.

It is  going to be a long day, and with the heavy rain storms, it is only fitting.
Today, my younger sister had to put Princeton, her dog down. Princeton came to the Wiest household sometime in 1993ish. When he came to our house, he was a stray  {or so that is the story we told my parents at that time...} that wondered around the neighborhood and we soon befriended.

He lived quite a life with us (as teens) and then when my sister moved out, she took him with her.   He actually thought he was human, I swear! He acted like a kid ... sneaky like a teenager... he smiled... he smurked and I swear he would talk too! .. or maybe it was just what we "thought". {wink wink}

When he was hit by a car, he spent time with me and the kids, as we helped him recuperate. That was about 2 years ago, but life hasn't been the same for him.  As we did prepare for this day, its still not easy for any of us.  Its been rough these last few months, he was telling us he was leaving soon... that I am certain of... not that I am a dog whisperer but sometimes you can just tell.

Hug the ones you love!
THank you for stopping by!

Oh, so sorry for your loss. They not only live in our homes, but in our hearts. We had to put our 14 yr old dog to sleep late last year. It is a hard thing to do. I know he will be missed by you all.

I am so sorry for your loss, my dog Harley is one of my best friends, giving me unconditional love and is always there when I need her. She is eleven now and I know the day is fast approaching when I will have to deal with the loss of my most loyal companion!My heart goes out to you...... the page you created is a wonderful tribute to Prince and the joy he brought to your family.

So sorry for the loss of your little friend. I had to put down my 17 1/2 yr. old Shih-tzu a couple of years ago and I grieved for that little fur ball for a long time. Her name was "Clo's Jasmine Delight" on her papers, but to us she was just plain Jazz. Hopefully you will find comfort in knowing what a good home she had and that she was much loved.

Princeton sounds like such a fun loving special chap. It will be hard to fill the gap left by this character and I feel for you in this time of mourning. Gather your warm thoughts and memories of him around you and you'll know he's still near. Sorry for your loss.

What a sweet and beautiful page. These sweet animals are near and dear to our hearts aren't they? I love the acrylic dog bone tag on your page. Thanks for playing at CQC this week! (and with a scrapbook page at that! :)
