Sunflower invites

Fun invitations for the annual Girls Weekend at the infamous Punkin Chunkin!  Its so much fun its something I look forward to every year!

I used the Criss Cross technique, which I have never down this direction. I had made some graduation invites a while back the other direction, so it took some time for me to configure. With this chevron paper, I wanted to keep the design straight, but not all were that lucky!

I made a sunflower with black rhinstones in the center... they were tiny! (3mm tiny) and I liked they went with it all. I used some burlap to wrap it all together as a bellyband!

Melon bloom

I have been slacking on some card making lately. Not that I haven't had cards to make, just not a lot of the energy to complete them. Thought it might be the time change, but honestly I think its just the 'more work, less people' kicking into high gear.

Nonetheless, some of my mojo shined and I got this together.

They needed to be mailed, so the pictures are not where they usually are, since it was snap snap and out to the post office.

I used a variety of materials - Big Shot for the Vintage Embossing Folder on the Crumb Cake, and the large Flower in Melon Mambo. I used the scalloped edge punch of Night of Navy and added pearls. Using the Ruffled ribbon, I attached it to the top of the Cheerful Treats DSP (Hostess) which is really cute!  The greens for the flower are punched from the Blossoms builder punch and I used a dimensional under the top one. Kindness Matters was stamped in Night of Navy and then sponged with Crumb Cake. I added a itty bitty flower to the corner. The little flower in the center is made with the tiny heart punch with a pearl in the center.

You're on my mind

With all the sunshine over the weekend, which melted some of the snow, it made you wish for springtime. I too am ready for all the snow to be gone and the flowers to be blooming. I swore I heard birds the other morning, and I think they are ready for the spring too!

As March approaches, I feel the need to put some of the heavy winter clothes away, the blankets that we curl under back into the closet but the reality is -- its still winter.

Todays card is the little bit of springtime I am wishing for.

Ingredients: CS: Melon, Apricot, Brocade Blue, White; Stamps: Upsy Daisy; Others: Scalloped oval punch & clear buttons with white thread, scorer

Happy Monday!
