Coral & Grey for Valentines day

I wanted to try different colors for Valentine's. 

I really liked the Coral with grey and with some embossing in the back it all came together.

I couldn't resist putting these together.. it was fun & used up small pieces that I had laying around. Mailing them out wasn't an easy task but with alittle more postage who wouldn't love receiving these?

I made a few more Valentine's I hope I will get to share too! Can't decide which is my favorite.

Look after my heart

I have been waiting to get my valentine mojo back on, and well, it might have arrived. Though I am not sure I will use this as a Valentine, but as a card when I am travelling. The 1SG and I have left notes for one another since we started dating, and though we have been together for 7 years, it hasn't stopped.  Heck, he went hunting and I make sure I slip a little note in his lunch bag to know that I am thinking of him and wishing him well. 

I used one of the Paper Make up Stamps with a simple Black and Red theme from Dynamic Duos. 

 

I used the small heart punch for the hearts on the side, and put some rhinestones within the sentiment. Just above I added ribbon and a clear heart button with bakers twine in it.  A simple little valentine!

Melon bloom

 I have been slacking on some card making lately. Not that I haven't had cards to make, just not a lot of the energy to complete them. Thought it might be the time change, but honestly I think its just the 'more work, less people' kicking into high gear. 

Nonetheless, some of my mojo shined and I got this together.

 

They needed to be mailed, so the pictures are not where they usually are, since it was snap snap and out to the post office.

I used a variety of materials - Big Shot for the Vintage Embossing Folder on the Crumb Cake, and the large Flower in Melon Mambo. I used the scalloped edge punch of Night of Navy and added pearls. Using the Ruffled ribbon, I attached it to the top of the Cheerful Treats DSP (Hostess) which is really cute!  The greens for the flower are punched from the Blossoms builder punch and I used a dimensional under the top one. Kindness Matters was stamped in Night of Navy and then sponged with Crumb Cake. I added a itty bitty flower to the corner. The little flower in the center is made with the tiny heart punch with a pearl in the center.

Uniquely Yours

Normally, my kids get non-traditional cards for holidays, such as Valentines... just like when my son got a boxer card.  They love it! I love it! It eases the pain of being 'just like the others'.  Of course, most of their cards end up in my example stash in the long run anyway! {{yes I am one of those}}. This year will be no different for them. However I have decided that those I mail will also not be out in the red/white/pink color combo!... yeah, I am living on the edge!!

 I pulled in the In Colors to make this years' Valentines for those that I will make. I love the Calypso Coral, with the white and  Pool Party as well... I wanted simple. I wanted fast and unique. Nothing gender oriented. They are  fun. 

Sometimes simple is too clean for me. Sometimes, like here I add bling and its not obvious until the light catches it. Good, bad or indfferent.. guess it depends.

Day 9.... Chocolate Card ..

Before I go any further - Yes, I will be your Valentine!  I have been asked by numerous people.. and I have such a big heart, I will be your Valentine too. Even if you are allergic to peanuts, I can still be your Valentine.  Maybe have diabetes? Yes I can still be your Valentine.  Just need a hug since your significant other is away,  YES I can do that too.. no problem! You can count on me.. just call me...."Chera Cupid!" ... no really, I want to be called Chera Cupid... just once...just say it or I will cry... do not make you shoot you with my arrows... I mean I could...I can use a bow, even a crossbow (its a hidden talent- dont tell - I keep having to pay the teens off not to let the other know...thanks.)

  So I played around with the candies in the box... yes there are 4 Snickers (the one bite size- Valentine style)- each have messages written on the wrapper - like Crazy for you, XOXO ... I am sure there are more but I wasn't going thru the whole bag to find them all. I chose the silver wrappers and put them in the box... and walked away from the bag.. which later was being consumed by the Other half and teens.

Day 1 - Glitter hearts

WELCOME to CHOCOLATE COVERED FEBRUARY!

For the next 14 days, you will seem projects that are made to "pretty up your chocolates" - whether they are homemade or store packaged!

Today, I have Glitter hearts... ladies/Gent- this is super easy, fast and fun! If either of my teens wanted treats for friends, this one would rank pretty high on the list.



Large heart punch (2) and 1 3/8 square punch (2) plus your chocolate and WAHA LA - you have a treat holder!

I used the SU! Glitter paper in my heart punch, and Real Red CS.  Depending on your chocolates would  depend on your score lines... I used Reese Hearts, and had to score my 1 3/8 square at 3/8 & 5/8 but you might have to play around with it.

Love hidden .. underneath the snow

My Valentine mojo is currently hidden under the snow with the freezing rain over top ... I think it needs some sunshine... something.

Good news: Spring is less then 60 days away (not that I am counting)...

Though I may not have much in the Valentine line at the moment - I have had some great ideas lately, but once I try to impliment them, they did not turn out so well... with my papercrafts... with my cooking that has been awesome!... do you think the gods are trying to tell me something?

I once made a notebook for these "ideas" - in which I prettied up with Designer paper and ribbon - and after 2 weeks, I got tied of the ribbon, and couldn't stand looking at the designed paper - so it went in my craft bin for samples. I doodled on grocery list paper, receipts from stores, whatever may be near... sad but true.

Recently, I was laying in bed, and had some pretty awesome ideas but didn't have anything to write my idea down.... NOTHING!! There wasn't anything on the nightstand- and I didn't dare get up - and trying to remember until morning wasn't going to work either.. so I arranged the items on the table in the fashion in which I wanted the card layout...good thing I had earrings, rings, chapstick, remote, cellphone & kindle laying close.

I have to say I like the way it turned out - but will make some minor adjustments.

Look after my heart

I left it with you.

As the end of the midtour leave arrived, I knew I had to continue with the tradition of putting little surprises in the bag in which my fiancee arrived home with. To do this, I had to be quick in getting it made, and I had to honestly be careful where I put them. Lets face it - I wanted him to find them but not until his journey outbound, and as a soldier who checks, and double checks his belongs before he leaves the house - let alone I didn't want the airport TSA to come across before he did, I cleverly tucked them in odd places that I knew SOMETIME during the next 6 months he would find.

The "Look after my heart, I left it with you" is a fantastic quote. It was the perfect sentiment for me to use. So I quickly put together this card for him.. masculine enough that he could read it in the airport or where he came across it.

Then I punched three large hearts out in Bermuda Bay and added "Take Care of me", "If I know what love is, it is because of you"; "My heart is ever at your service"- handwritten and tucked in multiple places.

Now I have to get alittle more mojo back in me and settle back in to card making. Thank you all for your kind words and prayers for my soldier boy as he deploys again.
