Manly Monday

The 1SGT and I headed to the family's beach house in Delaware, though it was just the two of us... HE was attending a High Power Rifle Match, about an hour north of where we were.  This meant I would be in charge of meals and entertaining myself for about 10 hours a day. (what a weekend getaway right?)

With sunrises like this at 0600

Entertainment during the day

And evening walks along the water

I didn't feel bad about making 8 Christmas cards, finishing 2 paperback romances,  and purchasing a Chicken BBQ dinner from a church fundraiser. Instead of the "to do list" I had in mind.

I also made 5 cards for the 1SGT while he is away this week in VA, for training. I snuck them in his briefcase (since he obviously wasn't around) - one for every day this week while he is gone.. I labelled the envelopes and hope he not only takes notice to them but opens them on the promised day.

So here is Monday:

I went with designing a handcarved tree and added our initials. We have never put our initials in an actual tree but we have done found postcards of trees and done this numerous times. Its fun, its manly and I only had limited supplies with me. {wink wink}

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY! HAVE A GREAT DAY!  HUG THE ONES YOU LOVE!

Swinging in....

My kids are a little to old to take to the playground to exert their energy, so we end up on bikes, hiking trails, or playing kickball. I miss some of our playground adventures. Not the scrapped knees and making sure they are clean when we get into the car, but the 'freedom' of being on a swing and just being pushed HIGH in the SKY! It was just FUN!!!!

I know found this on the Lynn Pratt's blog, years ago. Loved it but never tried it. It was fun to make. So I make 5 of them!

Its a free hand tree, and the card base is only 4 1/4 x 4 1/4, so you can make a tall tree and fit into an A2 envelope. I softly stamped clouds in the sky. I might add some flowers near the tree before sending out!

Thank you for stopping by!  Have a great day!  Hug the ones you love!

Trees

Yes, the trees are up an decorated at the house. One in the sunroom, and one in the living room. They are my artificials this year and I can say, I think since it doesn't SMELL like christmas, is why we aren't quite in the Christmas spirit. Someone said they needed snow... Christmas to me is more the "pine smell", then the messy snow. OH well.

Here is a tree decorated for the holidays, alittle more traditional then my own at home, but I when I mentioned trees to my daughter, she jumped at the chance to help - and I think she did a great job!

Truly wasn't sure besides the tree- what more to put - but with a tree you need a present, so she got out the square punch and some ribbon and went to town. The only thing she is totally bummed about is that I do not have a small star for the top! Well HELLO its Christmas, go get me one! LOL

Thank you Colette for your trees. You did great!

Garden Green CS was crimped and scalloped at the lowest point. Chocolate Chip rectangle for the base of the tree. Boho blossoms in yellow for the 'star'. Gold Glitter and Red Rhinestones made up the ornaments on the tree. The card base is Sahara, with versamark snowflakes. The Whisper White Wide Oval with the stamped verse finishes off the card.

Thank you for looking.
