WOW for Wednesday

This is picture heavy, since there are 5 cards along with the bag, and the sketch challenges are also linked. 

 

A friend and I were chatting the other day and she sent me a link for using a pad of design paper for a set of cards. As we talked about our paper hoarding and what we should do about it (besides therapy) I knew I had to use up some of my retired stuff, since I really haven't looked at in a long time. So dug it out, and decided a few bags with cards in them is just the way to make gifts, and use up my paper...

 

I found this template for the bag, after searching thru hundreds of saved files from over the last 16 years of crafting, and knew it would work! Thank you Amy Celona!

 

 

 

 

 

Next I needed a few cards to complete the bag.   this was more of a challenge than anything. I needed to find challenges, past or present to use some of this DSP that I had at hand. AND not to stray from those papers!  And Rainbow Sherbet is some bright paper. Sadly I still had some of the coordinating inks too!

 

 

 

Just Add Ink moved things along. This was a challenge in September and I thought it would come in handy again.

Next, I have this sketch from Merry Monday, but hadn't figured out what Christmas card to put together but I liked it as a birthday card.. so why not?

I remembered the CAS(E) this Sketch! and  this challenge was closing 40 minutes after I found the sketch but it doesn't matter, I was happy to use it, and a Thank you card was born!

 Simple and fast, by this point I am sick of looking at the  old paper, but know I need another card.  When I looked at Freshly Made Sketches, it was just what I could use to complete another card! Thank you FMS!!!

 

 

 

 

Freshly Made Sketches

Since my Framelits were still out I grabbed them and completed the last card for the bag. Uses more DSP, and alittle bling and bam! its done. No sketch, nothing fancy but I have completed it!

 

 

 

I DID IT!!! I used some of the retired DSP that I have been hoarding... I actually am looking at completing a few more for gifts, and using some old, so I can buy some new!... start the cycle all over again!!!

Timeless Portrait Purses

I wanted to have something fun to give to my "girls" when I saw them tonight for a dinner/drinks. I am hosting, which means I can spoil them with great little treats, and good eats!

These little purses were a perfect fit for them! They are simple, elegant... or maybe even.. TIMELESS... lol. {{thats the name of the designer paper... Timeless Portrait}}

Its about a 6 inch circle, cutting the bottom off, to make flat. I used the wide oval punch for the handle. On the bottom, I used a few different edge punches for decoration.

Then I made some flowers, from punches and/or different flower Big Shot dies, as my embellishment for the front. Each of the six is different!  I thought about adding alittle charm, or their Initial as a tag... but then it would mean I would have to decide who got what purse... and I would rather it be up to them!

I then used the Big Shot #2 Box, for the center, in Very Vanilla, cutting off what would have been the closure. I did pinch the sides in alittle bit so I could tie the handles together  with ribbon, once their goodies were inside.

I couldn't decide what to put in them... chocolates are an obvious choice {wink wink}, but it fits travel size lotion, chapstick, little sewing kit, Gift cards... its almost endless!  {{I decided on chocolates}}

WHO DOESN'T LOVE THESE?

I have two favorites! ... I love the Black design with Cherry Cobbler and also with the Indigo!

More purses...

So with all the talk about what my purse is.. I included it as I took pictures. Of course, I just had to decide which side I used... LOL.

The purses were made with Martha Stewart double sided paper, and then some Tangerine Tango paper that I honestly forgot I had. I used snaps as well as velcro for closures. I cannot say I am a fan of the magnet closures but I just started using them. The far right clutch- I used the corner rounder on the flip side and only added the flowers on the paper. I think its enough besides the ribbon for the handle.

Purses galore

For my birthday I got a great purse from my dear fiancee.... not too many people are familiar with the type... its a tokidoki purse... (check them out... www.shop.tokidoki.it ) .

So decided to try to create a purse.. with the directions I got off the Scor Pal site.. (since I never got one for my birthday!) http://www.scorpal.com/

The purse measures about 5 by 4, and with velcro that will be on the other side of the strip of paper that is flipped up, I am excited to see what all I can put in it. It was dark when I finished, so I took the pictures before it was totally completed. Otherwise, it would be a few days before it would get posted. I am excited to make a few more of these, maybe in time for Mothers Day ... I hope.

Pocket purses

I have found that when you fall in love with something, as simple as paper, the gift just falls into place afterwards.

I can sit at my daughter's swim team practice and kick out a bunch of these in that time frame. Of course I wait until the next day to put embellishments on - but man, I like these. I have made these for a carry of four cards and envelopes. Your gift options are endless- gift cards, money, socks, jewelry, pictures, etc.
