Happy Fall Y'all

Happy OCTOBER!!!! 

I put together some Fall/Autumn to send out to some of those relatives that we dont hear from very often as well as friends. Its nice to open the mailbox and see a card that someone has sent - I mean that is honestly why I keep doing this stuff! 

 

There is lots of retired product here - and I have no idea where the Autumn stamp is from - so I apologize in advance.  The pumpkin is circles and the leaves are from the build a blossom punch.  I used Lucky limeade and More Mustard cardstock (and ink) along with Chocolate Chip Ink.

With Gratitude and Appreciation

Without a doubt, I am sure you are almost AUTUMN SPLENDOR'd out... I am too, however, still trying to find the perfect balance for the cards I have to get out for Thanksgiving... so bear with me. I did use the GENTLY FALLING as well!

I cut out maybe 15 leaves, in a sitting, colored then differently and let them sit, until I got inspired. Which eventually they just went into a scrap bowl, but never left the table.   

I wanted simple. I wanted something different. I wanted something that I could mass produce and be within the Post Office mailing scale of things.  I  wanted texture.   I like - but I am not thrilled...

Blooming flower

I cannot stay too far away from punching out flowers when its comes to embellishments.. something just overcomes me, and I reach for the punches. I really had no 'idea' when putting this card together - except that I needed to use up some scraps. I had to really think about the flower center, since it will be mailed, I couldn't have too many layers.

Using the Expresso as my card base, it gave me the blend of autumn colors I love! Of course, it helped that most of the other stuff was laying nearby to grab and put together. The ribbon is alittle thicker than I like, but the texture completes the look.

I added some Garden Green in the inside and then cut out the same leaf and added it to the front.  Something tells me that I should dig around and make a few more of these.

WHO WOULDN'T LOVE A CARD LIKE THIS FOR THANKSGIVING?

Orange ya glad I am back???

Its been way to long since I have blogged! Its been an interesting few weeks! 

Lets recap, August rains, September flooding, October snow... need I say more? I have been busy doing some clean up from all of the above, which left little time for crafting. My beloved hobby took backseat as life raced by. The teens sports are slowing down, the 1SG officially retired after 24 years of service on November 1,and I recently freaked out that Christmas is only 6 weeks away!!!! 6 weeks!!!

So I settled into my vacation day with some really cool challenges to get my fingers inky!

First up, Playdate Cafe:

I used Confetti White,  Basic Black, and just a splash of Tangerine Tango!

I dusted off the Autumn Splendor stamp set and paired with the Seasonal Sentiments. Its perfect for this time of year!

I have lots more to do! So, stay tuned! In the meantime, go over and play with the Playdate Cafe!!!

Thanksgiving Wishes

Its exactly one month from Thanksgiving.!! We are turkey gobblers here in the house, we do not have to wait until thanksgiving time for our turkey - we have it many times a year -- sometimes a 1/2 way to Thanksgiving meal with all the fixings- that usually depends on the weather outside.

So I used Cajun Craze with Old Olive and More Mustard, I am not sure where the color combo arrived from but I put it on Sahara Sand as a neutral base.

I have the "crackled glass" look on the leaves - since I needed some texture on the card.

Chilly nights - a sign of Autumn

Its been wonderful to have the windows open while the chilly air blows in during the night. Reminds me that fall will be showing its head quite soon. For that reason, I got a few warmer colors pulled out and the Autumn Splendor stamp set out to play with.

I used the layout from the Stamping411 sketch challenge that was posted on Saturday.
I missed posting it to the Stamping 411 site since at 8am, I was getting coffee and not thinking of getting the challenge in yesterday... OOPS.. oh well. Take a look at the other creations.
