Oldie but Goodie!

Its a co workers birthday, and since she is off to a James Taylor /Carol King concert, I knew I was in the clear to post!

I like this old Raspberry Tart paper, which I have more of and I really should have been scrapbooking with, I am glad to use for this special birthday card!

I added a printed out sentiment that says "That will be enough wisecracks out of us, we were taught to respect our elders." and then signed it! I hope she likes it.. I hope she enjoys the concert even more..

Have a great day!

Watch out for the Turtles!!

Here's the story -

When my daughter was little (ok younger, I mean shes only 12), and people would leave the house from visiting ,we would tell them to "drive carefully, watch for deer"... since they habitated in the area of which we lived. Then it happened, on the way home one day, we spotted a turtle one the road. I stopped, got out and moved it across the road (whether it was the direction in which it was headed or not, I do not know..). Got back in the car, and went home. She asked me why I did that. I told her it could have gotten hit on the road, and turtles are not common around here, so apparently its out of its element.

Since that moment, we still continue with our good bye routine of "Drive carefully, watch for deer", and she adds " and Turtles".

So in honor of the humor of my daughter I give you todays card:

This little turtle is from the Fox & Friends set. They are an adorable group of animals - fun for me since I have little animals in my stash.GASP!!!!... that is what I keep saying too! I went pretty earthy on the tones of paper here. It just seems to flow!

Ingredients: CS-Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Old Olive, Only Orange; Stamps: Hello Again, Fox & Friends; Scalloped edge punch, ribbon

Sugar and spice and everything nice

that is what little girls are made of....

Isnt that what they say? I am not totally sure about that.. afterall, I have a 12 yo girl and the "everything nice" comes and goes when it wants to! HA HA. This too shall pass ... I was told.. by someone that has 4 daughters... so I believe it! LOL

With all that being said, here is todays project:

I actually filled the bag with chocolates for the father to be... since the mother to be had a shower and I think its sad that they guys get left out of the picture. I am sure hes not sad, but he gets chocolates.. so HOORAY FOR HIM!!!

I used the new Fox n Friends stamp set, which I have in the new clear mount stamps. I used some DSP, which may have retired, but I am drawing a blank on the name, sorry. The pink ribbon is the new SATIN ribbon... which I am liking more and more and it usually more subtle than my taste.. but its all nice and pretty! It was super simple to put together. I probly had to take more time to make the chocolated then the bag itself, thanks to the bags that SU! offers. You get 5 bags in a pack. Pretty nice to have on hand!

"Owl" be yours

I told you the addiction to these little "Fox & friends" from the Occasions Mini is terrible.. in a good way. I have an attraction to this little owl, since its the only animal my son still has interested in. As a small child he liked owls.. for whatever reason no one understood this. We would spend long hours at museums where they had exhibits of owls. I would only be interested in since it was apart of what he liked, though I truly would get alittle creeped out myself!

Here is the owl, with some hearts (Three heart punch) hanging out for Valentines day!

Fox & Friends stamp set with pink, red, white & Kraft Cardstock. Chocolate Chip ink for the owl. Three hearts punch and the 'scallops' on the base is the heart punch.

And if you follow this blog at all, the answer to the lingering question.. Yes there is a pair of boxers with an "owl" on them for his Valentines! HA HA !

She's a FOXy Lady!

When I saw FOX & FRIENDS in the Occasions Mini, I knew I had to have them... I mean, how cute are they?

They do not have sentiments with them, and the set is a fox, lion, giraffe, owl, turtle, whale & monkey... so I gave them a try in the clear-mount style. I figured if I had to have them, and I had to try the clear- mount - this would make me use them! SURPRISE, this wood mount girl loves the clear mount.

NOW- before you get all crazy and say "the clear stamps I have bought before... " blah blah blah. Listen to me.. they are still the high quality red rubber that you are already using from Stampin Up! with the foam. The Clear mount stamps still have the "image label" for them, if you are like me and have to SEE what I am doing.. its easy peasy! Your clear mount stamps arrive in a CD case like stamp case. Skinner storage! ... which means you can get more and more and more stamps!!!

Ok, with that all being out of my system, here is the Foxy lady, which is being shipped off to a friend just in time for Valentines day! She is a foxy lady... inside and out!

I stepped out of the norm for a Valentines card. I used the REAL RUST and KRAFT with a smidge of REAL RED and BLACK. I love it! I added a button to the Black ribbon for alittle pop to the card. She will be joining her Friends with cards for the rest of the family... how cool is that?

Happy Thursday!
