I had a fun time getting some Valetines cards completed. With the 3 hearts punch, some DSP and Wacky Wishes, BOOM your done!!! Thats great!!!!

"You little devil"

Usually followed by a "you shouldn't have..." comment.

How many times do we hear that?  Recently, when I heard it, the light bulb went off and I was like... "yep- this little devil is going to do something about it!" and today.. I did.

They are created with many pieces, but all well worth the time put into them.

 I added little treats for some of my closest coworkers. Though they are on a weight loss, I didn't give them anything that would tip them over.

Aren't they fun? I mean, it brings a smile to your face. I have to thank Ellen Kemper again, for her main idea, and I manipulated her devil to confirm to mine!

Chocolate Kisses

Who doesn't love Chocolate? 

I am a fan!  A big fan.

If you are a follower, you may remember, I did a Chocolate Covered February last year for 14 days. I got the idea from Hershey, who does Chocolate Covered February for an entire month.

May this is why I love Chocolate so much??? Who knows.. but I contain myself. I do sometimes have to stop the BLT (bite, lick, taste) of all the chocolate I see, but the temptation!!! OH MAN!!

Nonetheless, I have put together a little chocolate card - that is 'heading' places with some chocolate.. homemade candies actually, but they have chocolate on them, so I am certain they will be a hit!

The light really does stink, my apologizes. I wanted to get the boxes out, for enjoyment, so I am sorry I didn't take more time with the photos. 

The colors are Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette and Crumb Cake. I used some of the glitter paper leftover from Christmas, which fits perfect for something like this. I used the Decorative label punch, and the Blossoms Petal builder punch. I added some bling on the label, it went too well along with the glitter paper.

Concept of Kisses was byLaura Lipe at Smiles, Laura. This is where I got the concept from... I just covered them with "wrapper". Thank you Laura!

Simple Valentine

Square punch.

That is how my sketch book read. And I like it!  It was that easy!  Its not too mushy. Its not too femine. Its just as I thought!  I have some texture, and I have bling, what more would I need?

Can you say... CARD ???

WHAT DO YOU SAY TO A FEW CARDS? 

Even if they are VALENTINE like?

This one could be a an anniversary card, thinking of you, or romantic just because... its pretty masculine ... its made with foil.. I love running foil thru my BIG SHOT.. gives me endless embossing to embellish with. LOVE YOU BIG SHOT!

The next two cards are the produced from the same cut our on the bottom of the front flap. I used my swirl edge template for scrapbooking here just to give another look. This one I layered Very Vanilla inside the card to reflect out. I used little tiny hearts (trio heart punch) to line the curved line.  I grabbed a funky font from HERE, and then used the Big Shot- Matchbox die with the tags to make this tag in Vanilla. Added the rhinestones and then sponged the edges. This is on dimensionals on the card front.



This picture was taken with an old camera, that apparently didn't like the setting I wanted it to have. Sorry for lack of better lighting!

  So, next is again, the swirly template (curly- who knows the correct name for it) but this time I let it go. I added a Valentines label, from the Big Shot- Petal Cone die, and made two little rolled buds.


Again, bad picture due to old camera. Would love to trade in for better model, but someone assumes the point and shoot is just fine for now...



Let me just tell you something about these little rolled quilled buds. 6 circle punches later, I finally got one that I liked. I mean HELLO.. they need to look SLIGHTLY similar. Its made me laugh and then I flung them at my teen daughter when she entered the craft cave scaring me too death since I was deeply concentrating... I WAS CONCENTRATING OVER CUTTING AND QUILLING A CIRCLE!!!!  plus, I was being rushed against the clock of the postal driver so they could get into the mail... ugh.. talk about procrastination!   and yes, I said "flung"... :0)

"CHOCOLATE COVERED FEBRUARY" EVENT

First I have to say, again, its been alot of fun! I mean its the type of fun you do not want to stop and go home because reality will set in ... is that going too far?   I got to hear from papercrafting pals from all over the place! I got to put my work in a few challenges and get some really awesome feed back. With over ___ comments left in the last 14 days, its been a pleasure to hang out with you guys! When I told the teens we had to draw names since I couldn't get the RANDOM.org to cut & paste into my post, they made a few faces... maybe because it was 6 am... but hey they didn't let me have my seafood dinner last night, so we all had to take one for the team, right? .. but I digress...

What I did for you was searched for tutorials online, since alot of my stuff is printed and binded and I do not have THAT many technology skills for PDF's on the blog...  I will mention if I used different sizes - OK? 

So let get started on the fun stuff ok... that is why you are here:

DAY 1:  GLITTER HEARTS
Two heart punches, two 1 3/8 square punches - scored at 5/8 & 7/8 (but if you candy is 'fatter' you will have to adjust). Glue in V shape.

DAY 2: OWLs from Pillow Box
This uses the pillow box die for the Big shot. I used all sorts of punches, mainly circle punches. I used my scallop edge punch for his belly.

DAY 3: Tiny Treats
You can make these bags any size you want. My tiny version:  Cardstock: 2 1/2 x 2 1/2, score at 1/2 (all the way around to make a box bottom), Then your DSp or Cardstock for your main part of the bag is 6 1/2 x 3. Wrap about the box, using sticky strip, seal at the back. I used the scallop circle punch with the circle punch in the middle for the handles. You can decorate accordingly.

DAY 4: COOKIE BOX

Decorate accordingly.

DAY 5: CHINESE TAKE OUT BOX
This can be done two ways... with the Take Out Box die for the Big Shot(which I have and love)  or buy them premade... ok so maybe there is a tutorial for them out there... I am continuing to search for them...

DAY 6: COFFEE BEAN HOLDER
Here is template by Mary Brown. My dimensions are alittle different:
11 x 7 1/2 CARDSTOCK ; Score 11 side - 4 3/4, 6 1/4, Score 7 1/2 side - 2 3/4, 4 3/4. Cut the 4 largest rectangles out. I used the large oval punch for my window. Then inserted a piece of transparency sheet to cover opening of oval. Used the small oval, for the handle. I cut my sides down alittle, once I put it together by about 1 inch.


DAY 7: WINE NECK HOLDER
I didn't use any special template. I made this stuff for water bottles, so its just a measurement thing. I like the idea especially for teens - grab a drink & a gift card and its a present - and they will like it. Here is one I found HERE on Splitcoaststampers.

DAY 8: NUGGET TIN
Belly bands are another item that is left to your descretion. I like to stay under 2 inches for my bands. And then embellish the crap out of them. As for the nugget tins, you could just embellish them, without belly band.

DAY 9: TREAT CARD HOLDER

DAY 10: TREAT BAG FAVORS
This one I have been using for so many years, I could do it in my head, however, my measurements could be off, so instead of that coming back to bit me...

DAY 13: TREAT HOLDER with flap

I have no idea if this exists anywhere but as a scrap that landed on my desk. This is what I drew up.  If you click it - it enlarge

WOW ! That should be 14 days of projects right there! It sure is a long one -looking back. Like I said, some of the items sit in a binder, for years. I would hate to confess and tell you that I have been stamping for at least 20 years...am I really that old, you say... 

I do recall when Stampin' Up! first came to market! Back then, they even had FOAM stamps, and it was all babysitting allowance could afford! Heck I still have it.. in my parent attic! {{YIKES!}}

Day 14 ... HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

 HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!! 

I made little Valentines last night for the family, friends of the teens.  I managed to just stick to prepackaged treats! I cannot recall making simple  3 x 3 cards... as simple as what that is.. I just haven't.

I had to use Concord Crush - because I just LOVE the deep rich color it is.. I love to pair it with Cherry Cobbler as well!

I added some pretty flowers inside .. though secretly I knew I was keeping this one for me!

I used some scraps at the table/desk that I could - and tried to embellish them all I could.. but my biggest challenge was this GOLD WRAPPER.. I couldn't really HIDE it and really I am not much of a GOLD person - so it was difficult!

Last, this was a notecard for the teens - to share, to tell them we were having a lobster boil tonight - and when they each read it - they told me they were hoping for strawberry pancakes.... REALLY? Pancakes instead of Lobster tail/ mussels/scallops, little corn on the cobs, and baby red potatoes... HECK look at the cost savings... so I guess I will just get my seafood meal another time.. plus after a my strength training this evening, I am sure pancakes will sound really yummy!

I have a confession to make - this was a lot of fun!  I mean A LOT! ... you didn't let me proscrastinate with making sure that everyday was a new idea!  Heck I did so much baking (some you didn't see - since it wasn't 'pretty enought' for packaging - {wink winkn}}) It was great to hear from people that otherwise may stay in the woodwork! Your generosity has been such a delight to my day... days in the corporate world would bring me down and I had a all new high when I would visit my blog and see your comments!     Thank you for visiting me! Day 13...

Today was  suppose to be Chocolate covered bacon day...  and I just heard you gag... have you ever TRIED chocolate covered bacon? This is not your momma's bacon- let me tell you! I get my bacon from the butcher, its not smoked (but I guess it could be) and then I bake it in the oven until crispy. I melt my chocolate (again doesn't matter what flavor chocolate) and dip my cooled bacon in it - add alittle sprinkles and let cool again... it doesn't last long here. Heck,  neither does bacon for breakfast!

 Nonetheless, I managed to serve up some little pretzel chocolate kisses, pecan bites... I do not have a name for them, I just know that they are delicious.

This is the closest thing to looking girly I get. I do not have a knack to make frilly girly stuff. I guess I am a simple gal like that. I enjoyed making these little bags, since they were simple and small. The inside has 1 1/2 of space.  To me - this is grand space for items... maybe even fudge could fit in there! WAHOO!  

Quick Tutorial: The cardstock is 3 x 9 3/4, score long (9 3/4) piece at 3, 4 1/2, 7 1/2. To make the V  flap -measure 1 inch from the 7 1/2 score line and pencil on both sides. Find the center (1 1/2) amd mark, cut on angle , this forms the flap. Decorate.

I like these little bags, I have about 4 candies (square pretzels treats) in these and that is just enough for a little Valentine!

Day 12... Love mobile...

What you may not know about me... is I am pretty GREEN... I am probly alittle more Green than most people... I Recycle, Reuse and Repurpose a lot.. its not obscessive... or at least I claim that I am pretty normal about it all. I like most people, have pretty canvas, thermal totes that I take to the stores with me, for my groceries, I also have mesh bags for my veggies and fruit. I have a garden that i love to tend to  - of course, this off sets my baking splurges come spring/summer/fall.   I have made papercrafts with my old Pringles tin, toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, etc. This is what we do! 

This is just what we do... but this is what happens when you say to the"other 1/2" in the house "How about invisioning this  {holding an empty Tombow adhesive box} into a van" ... for the next 2.5 hours - we cut, we measured, we designed a cute van - that even was equiped with side windows & a moon roof... something tells me hes hasn't been totally honest when discussing his past vehicles... I can say honestly that I never in my wildest ideas ever thought it was going to turn out like this!

So I learned a very valuable lesson... ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!  It might just take some trial and error, a colorful imagination, and sometimes a pot (or two) of coffee {{French pressed - even}}! It all was great fun. Its nice having someone else around that can give sight on a project and I didn't have to twist his arm - or beg him to do it (ok, we fought over scissors versus punch once.. and he saw MY WAY.. so its all good!).

I stuffed the bus/mobile with chocolate covered pretzels.. since we were munching on them while we worked on the project. However the inside is big enough for the mini loaves of bread (and if I had managed to get to the freezer I would have stuffed one in there as proof).

 

So its no LOVE MACHINE.. but its a great LOVE MOBILE... with recycling too!  Do not forget about BLOG CANDY - leave me some LOVE and your name gets entered.. Day 11... Chera Cupid makes cute paperbag purses

I just have to say.. Chera Cupid didn't bake! I know you might be saddened by this - so take a moment... once you compose yourself, let me know.. I will be here.... are you with  me?   You see - my corporate FT job took a huge toll on me yesterday, and while I wont get into details, I attended a yoga class. It was more for calming me down, finding my center than for the athletic ability.. since twice I fell down - with tears in my eyes...  but I digress..   NO PITY PARTY for me I got home from the class, made dinner, finished up a few things, missed Grey's Anatomy (will catch OnDemand or Hulu) and headed to bed to be able to start Friday as a new day!

So here is today- another Friday in February, and to celebrate HEART  HEALTHY MONTH (not just Valentines Day-month)  I have TWO red paperbag purses for you. These bags will actually be filled wih homemade popcorn... one caramel with nuts, one caramel without nuts but with chocolate drizzle!   BUT FOR TODAY.. They are stuffed with Snickers, Reese's Hearts and Kisses... yummy...

Day 10... Dying for Dove

OK, so dying MIGHT be a bit of an over exaggeration... but the oddest {{grammar teacher- is that a word?}} thing happened yesterday... I heard there was a such thing as a DOVE CHOCOLATIER... Chocolatier - I say????.. well I am a chocolatier... or so I claim to be one.. but these people get paid to sell Chocolate?... excuse me? You mean, there is a chance that outside these corporate walls - there is a chance I could get paid for being a chocolatier? ... SOMEONE tell me MORE... It can't be true?   {SERIOUSLY - IF YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS - SEND ME AN EMAIL - I AM DYING TO SEE WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT!!! greetingsbychera  at  yahoo  dot  com }

So I went home and squeezed 4 Dove (DARK CHOCOLATE ALMOND) candies into a cello bag and rocked out another little holder.... since this is how I roll {{this is what happens when you eat them before posting}} This is such an old treat holder from Splitcoaststampers - but I like it... ALOT!..

 

Yes, I managed to keep 8 Dove candies out and put these together... I am the dark chocolate queen.. oh hell, I am just a chocolate queen - no matter what your flavor!

These are the yummy holders together.. arent they just a beauty? I love the wild wasabi color -- even before it was brought back into SU! I hoarded the last sheets I had for 'special people', now I probly more with every order.. just so I am not caught without it!

Day 9.... Chocolate Card ..

Before I go any further - Yes, I will be your Valentine!  I have been asked by numerous people.. and I have such a big heart, I will be your Valentine too. Even if you are allergic to peanuts, I can still be your Valentine.  Maybe have diabetes? Yes I can still be your Valentine.  Just need a hug since your significant other is away,  YES I can do that too.. no problem! You can count on me.. just call me...."Chera Cupid!" ... no really, I want to be called Chera Cupid... just once...just say it or I will cry... do not make you shoot you with my arrows... I mean I could...I can use a bow, even a crossbow (its a hidden talent- dont tell - I keep having to pay the teens off not to let the other know...thanks.)

  So I played around with the candies in the box... yes there are 4 Snickers (the one bite size- Valentine style)- each have messages written on the wrapper - like Crazy for you, XOXO ... I am sure there are more but I wasn't going thru the whole bag to find them all. I chose the silver wrappers and put them in the box... and walked away from the bag.. which later was being consumed by the Other half and teens.
