She's a FOXy Lady!

When I saw FOX & FRIENDS in the Occasions Mini, I knew I had to have them... I mean, how cute are they?

They do not have sentiments with them, and the set is a fox, lion, giraffe, owl, turtle, whale & monkey... so I gave them a try in the clear-mount style. I figured if I had to have them, and I had to try the clear- mount - this would make me use them! SURPRISE, this wood mount girl loves the clear mount.

NOW- before you get all crazy and say "the clear stamps I have bought before... " blah blah blah. Listen to me.. they are still the high quality red rubber that you are already using from Stampin Up! with the foam. The Clear mount stamps still have the "image label" for them, if you are like me and have to SEE what I am doing.. its easy peasy! Your clear mount stamps arrive in a CD case like stamp case. Skinner storage! ... which means you can get more and more and more stamps!!!

Ok, with that all being out of my system, here is the Foxy lady, which is being shipped off to a friend just in time for Valentines day! She is a foxy lady... inside and out!

I stepped out of the norm for a Valentines card. I used the REAL RUST and KRAFT with a smidge of REAL RED and BLACK. I love it! I added a button to the Black ribbon for alittle pop to the card. She will be joining her Friends with cards for the rest of the family... how cool is that?

Happy Thursday!

Flowers are a bloom

I spent a good bit of the day outside getting things put away from the summer, and cleaning out the garden for winter. It is sad alittle. I do like fall. But in the midst of my thoughts about all the clean up I had, there were three flowers, outside of my mums, that were still in bloom, looking at me to almost say.."hey, I am still here."

When the chores were done, and I was able to get back into my craft cave, I put this together. If it hadn't been getting so dark I would have taken a picture of the card with the flowers that inspired me so.

I used the LNS Challenge 42 - Color challenge to complete the card. Its unbelieveable how many scraps I 'used' to put this together, but I am liking it.

Ingredients: Scalloped Circle Punch- Ruby Red CS, Boho flowers Punch- Ruby Red CS, Scalloped oval Punch- Old Olive CS, Kraft flower pot base.

Ruby Red, Old Olive and Real Rust...

... was the color challenge for Latenightstampers, a Yahoo Group I belong to.

I was confident that this was going to be easy.. simple enough, afterall those are fall colors... colors in which I had limited supply of... so yes a challenge it was!

First please excuse the pictures, since its getting dark out so early, I wasn't able to capture it in great light. Still working on getting a photobox.

So here is Upsy daisy water misted with Ruby Red and Real Rust markers. I added brads since I thought it needed something. The Old Olive ribbon was included in the Elements pack of ribbon, which I wrapped around the Real Rust CS after I rolled the specklers roller across it in Real Rust.

Second, I did about a dozen of these alternating the base color. I am not crazy about the glitter that I added, so I only added it to one. This is the acorn from Autumn Splendor. Again, I used the specklers roller on the bottom cardstock althought you cannot see that in these photos. I popped the acorns up on dimensionals and turned the ribbon over for the plain side on the other cards.

WILD ABOUT FRIDAYS

I have searching for this picture for a long long time... since at least July... when the baby shower was... I didn't realize it went into the wrong folder... man... I have got to get better organized.
This was part of a baby shower gift I did for my cousin, back in July, when she was having her baby boy. She went into labor early, and we postponed the shower until later... but here is the Thank you cards and door hanger I put together for her. Other goodies were included, but nothing too fun!!!

Faux Watercolor

I wasn't sure how I would like this faux technique, and may have not done it per the directions, but lets just call it MY version.

I colored the Upsy Daisy with markers, spritzed it with water, stamped it out and then punched it with this enormous Marvy scallop punch that I borrowed from a friend.

I found this Rust paper in a bin, and used it with the Ruby Red textured card stock on the side. The 'thank you' was cut using the corner of the tag punch. Gave it alittle flare. Doesn't make it look like to cluttered but the straight cut wasn't doing anything for the card either.

I think this "watercolor technique" brings the looks of the card to another level. It was pretty easy to duplicate. I put together a set of these (with different sentiments) to be raffled off for a church gathering.
