Retro Sketch 29- Snowflakes

Another Christmas card for the bin, just in case I need them for later. You see, its voted on by the family what card is used for the sending.. Usually 3 designs are chosen, and then I bust my tail to get them all completed.

Normally, 1SG's family gets the most unique ones, since my family is usually around when I am making my cards, they pick and choice what they want, so I have to make fancy tags for their presents, so they get some WOW moment over Christmas

I wanted so bad to use this sketch from Retro Sketches, for a Christmas card... and its worked out just the way I wanted.

There is still time to play. Go ahead, head over,  RETRO SKETCHES, this challenge ends Friday September 21!!!

Thanks for stopping by! Hug the ones you love! Have a great day!

Starting to look like Christmas

The tree is up - not fluffed or decorated.
The cookie ingredients are almost totally accounted for- but no cookies made.
The house smells of spiced apples.

Sometime soon, it will look like Christmas at the house! {LOL}

While the boys were out hunting, I tried to get some cards completed. I liked this color challenge, since its not too tradional. It worked well with a simple design.

Colour Q
And since someone was successful with a deer, I didn't get the opportunity to post on the challenge. I admit, I hardly ever to get post on end date! My luck!

Please enjoy anyways!

Have a great day!

Clean n Simple Snowflakes

I know that we have some gorgeous fall season temperatures out there this week, but part of me has been turning on the Christmas clock. Part of that is due to some of the stores already getting their decorations out for the winter holiday! ALREADY? What about Halloween??? Just do not turn the music on yet, or I will be without Christmas spirit by Thanksgiving.

What I have here is a SIMPLE card. Just basic stamping... sometimes we forget about the simple stuff. ... so I just thought - theses beautiful snowflakes speak for themselves, not alot of glit needed for them.

This is another stamp set in the new SU! Holiday Mini Catalog that was just released on Tuesday. I like it!

Raspberry Snowflakes

It was with great excitement that I was able to play with some new rubbah... the latest SU! Mini Catalog (just released Sept 1) has too many wonderful sets in them. This one I was given the opportunity to use - but all my excitement was lost when I had a moment to sit and play with it. I only got to make four cards. That is ok, sometime soon I will play again and see what transpires at that time. Some of you are probly wondering "why are you worried about snowflakes already" ... two reasons, one is that I have been making cards for Cards for Heros, which now will include my sweeties unit and second, I have to get busy making my Xmas cards so I can get pear sauce, apple sauce, and other seasonal items canned and not be behind.. (wink wink).

I used dimensionals on the circles, with the Raspberry cardstock. It popped just as I wante don the Kraft cardstock (I really have to put this color in a hiding place for a while, seems to be my 'go to color'). I used a pearl in the center of the the big circle. And a rhinestone in the center of the small circle on the corner.

In full version, I do believe I need to spice it up alittle for my personal taste, however I must be careful of the glit and weight for CFH. I am not sold on it though, maybe I will check out other colors with it. One thing for sure is I love the Serene Snowflakes set... must have!!!
