a Christmas Thank you

We've had some surprise holidays gifts arrive...and some snow well..tis the season!
So to honor the occasion, I put together some Christmas Thank yous.

I used the large framelit from Festive Furry and two unique colors! Pool and Razzleberry.

In the center, I use the Jolliest Time of Year sentiment. Seemed fitting.

Recently, we woke up to this.... when the weather man said "just a dusting" it actually equalled several inches in the two hours it fell. My commute usually is  under 10 minutes, however noone was prepared and it was an hour due to  chaos on the road. Oh well.

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!
Happy New Year!

Holiday Ornaments

I was trying my hand at embossing since its been.... well... quite some time since I have last used this technique. I love the look of the gold with some color.

Then I tried to tie ribbons on the top...I'm not sure which I prefer but they were fun to put together. I haven't figured out which will be mass produced fir sending but tine us running out.... 20 more days till Christmas.

WHOooooooooooo loves Christmas

What a delight it was to open up a card from the 1SG and the kids that was handmade... they really must have been sneaky to use the materials that used! I love it!  Of course, each ornament represents them. And it replicates the  Annoying Orange, if you are familar... its our way put smiles on the teens faces when they are down!... actually they use it to annoy me more than anything!

Over at Bloggers Challenge, they have a great challenge with packaging for food... and since my salted caramel pretzel bark gets ate within the time it takes to make it, I am using the White Trash Christmas mix, which actually we make all year around!

The owl is made with a few BIG SHOT items, and I guess that is why he is so fun to make! I used the Fancy Favor box, Top Note, Stocking, then some punches: circle, boho blossoms, heart punches

Unscripted Christmas extras

Just a few more Christmas cards that I made up so I had some on hand that pop in the house.

First I used some retired paper, and made a pointsettia with the build a blossom punch.

Second, I used the cute little snowman bunch for the sketch, kept it simple with only highlighting a few items on the men, and popping on some flower soft.

Ornament Greetings

Another group of cards that put you in the spirit of the holidays! These are traditional colors and a simple layout. Just the way its suppose to be!

I used the keepsake ornament framelits to cut them out and added pearls to the ornament to dress them up.

It was a busy weekend here. All the Christmas shopping is complete. Cards mailed out. More importantly, my son took his oath to join the PA National Guard, which he will complete basic training this summer between his junior and senior high school years... what a proud mom moment!! Truly I am blessed!

Evergreen trees

I am finally completed with my craft fairs for the season. I had a great time, met some wonderful people and some days didn't spend all the money I made. {wink wink}

I put these together in quick time! A little Red, a little white, a little green.. perfect Christmas combination!

Using the Evergreen tree and putting a glitter star on the top -
a little BLING!!!

Wrap Tulle as a bow, and it completes the card!

Kissmas Tree

Anytime I can play with Chocolate, I am totally into it!  When I found this , I knew my gang would love it! I could customize it for their person chocolate kisses liking, and noone could complain. So I started with the Candy cane flavored, then moved to Dark chocolate, Cherry cordial and caramel... HOW FUN!!!!

No lie, when I got the bending of the paper down, I zipped thru these in no time! It requires some patience, but not much... trust me!!!

Best part, though they do not shake out, they fit into the clear envelopes from SU! HOORAY, we have a winner!!!

Again, the tutorial is at Qbee Quest blog - HERE

Little Christmas Snowflake

I have really enjoyed the Pretty Pink Posh 10 minute Craft Dash challenges. It keeps me simple. It also makes me really look at my stamp sets and see what I will have to use. Plus 10 minutes a card... are you kidding me... this I love!!

Here my 10 minute card - missing a few elements I wanted - however it still unique!

I really wanted the bells on it, however that took another 2 minutes... so a 12 minute card... why not?

I used the colors from Dynamic Duos, another fun talented group with great challenges.  Now I will make a few more, since it was easy enough!

Christmas Wishes

Its just a few weeks before Christmas, so you know the stores have all their Black Friday goods in the ads, and the lists are being made for Santa, etc. As a matter of fact, he made an appearance at our local mall this past week! I cannot believe we are so close to the holiday!

I used the Christmas Wishes to make a few vintage/country themed cards. I like them, and a few friends of mine already started to fight over them, so I gather I will be making some more!

Let me point out, because I didn't see it until after I photographed them, that one of the backgrounds is sideways, OOPS!!This is what happens when I am such a rush gettting them completed!

I am off to preview the kids lists, and let me be blessed that the lists are not too out of control!!

Sweet Santa

I am sure many of you own stamps that just make you laugh. You may not use them very often, but you always get a chuckle you look at it. This is one of mine!

I just stamped her in black and then colored her hat & heart in the mug, otherwise, she is left untouched.

I wasn't sure what to match her with, but using some of the DSP from Be of Good Cheer was perfect as was the sketch from Sweetest Thing.

I have quite a few friends this year that will enjoy this card!

She says:
I believe in Santa Claus,
I believe in any man who
brings me presents and
leaves before I have to
Make him breakfast!

Merry Merry

I am trying to get some Christmas cards completed. Of course, I spoke of this task a bit ago, but haven't done a thing about it. I have been toying with some DSP that is alittle loud for some cards, but I really like how it mixed with the Happy for You set.

Be of Good Cheer designer paper has great colors in it, and I really loved it with some of my 3D items. As for a card, I was alittle nervous. I actually really like the look.

I used the Apothecary Accents for the wreath, in two sizes. Popped the frame up with dimensionals and colored in with markers.

The layout becomes quite addictive!!! Go ahead and play! You have until November 2!!!

Clean & Simple

I used the Paper Player Challenge of Frames again!  You have under 26 October to play along!

Believe- Fab Fri

I almost missed a great color challenge by Fab Fri... so I  quickly just  reached for one stamp set, Snowflake Soiree
and off I was just doing my thing.... all before dinner was ready!

I made two of them, just to make sure I could handle the Summer Starfruit with the blues as a snowflake. ... and its growing on me!

Time is ticking before these colors will be gone!
Hurray  and play along !!!

Evergreen - PDCC150

The leaves are starting to change around here, as I look up at the mountain ridge. Its a great time of year! We've had a few crispy mornings over the weekend. Must mean it really is Autumn outside! I headed out to some fall festivals yesterday with a friend. Hit up some yard sales on the way home as well. It was definately time well spent.

With it being fall, I must get a move on a few more Christmas cards.  I was trying to get about 5 a month, during the summer and made 1.. period!!! So now I really must bust thru some.

I used the Playdate Cafe colors to push me through some not so traditional ones. Using the new Evergreen, was helpful since it has a sentiment with it.

I used the Apothecary framelits to cut out the tree, and then used the new Scalloped Tulle for a bow at the base of the tree. I used some Glimmer paper with the scallopped Trim (Tasteful Trim - Big Shot) on the sides.

There is still time to play at the PLAYDATE CAFE!

Retro Sketch 29- Snowflakes

Another Christmas card for the bin, just in case I need them for later. You see, its voted on by the family what card is used for the sending.. Usually 3 designs are chosen, and then I bust my tail to get them all completed.

Normally, 1SG's family gets the most unique ones, since my family is usually around when I am making my cards, they pick and choice what they want, so I have to make fancy tags for their presents, so they get some WOW moment over Christmas

I wanted so bad to use this sketch from Retro Sketches, for a Christmas card... and its worked out just the way I wanted.

There is still time to play. Go ahead, head over,  RETRO SKETCHES, this challenge ends Friday September 21!!!
