I spent a day in New York City, Monday. Its an annual event (when hes home) the 1SGT and I do around this time of year. I want to see the city in lights, the big awesome tree and try something new from a restuarant I have see on the network somewhere. Usually its in the negatives temperature wise, which makes for lots of coffee, hot chocolate and longer visits in the shops. This year it was pleasantly warm, in the 40s. I didn't even have to put a hat on!!! 

When we were in NYC, I got some roasted chestnuts from a street vendor... DELICIOUS!!!! They were slightly warm & really yummy!!! I hated to share - but I did!

THIS is the closest thing I am having to a fireplace in my house. I did make it and put it in the family room for effect... so I could snuggle up on the sofa with a good smut book, fuzzy blanket, glass of wine and the 1SG and watch the flicker of the fire! {{wink wink}}

The template was from Creations by AR, I punched out the flames from the two step bird punch, and made logs from the Word Window punch. I tried my best to put a mirror on the top of the fireplace. Its decorated simply, since that is my version.

From our home to yours...

SILLY ME... thought I woould make 4 different cards for sending this year - besides what I made for my better half... and I was to make cookies, ship packages and... well become totally overwhelmed.... so I took a step back. Made my lists... since I am a list gal..Got all my shopping completed - wrapped- and tagged. YEAH!!!! Got to the post office for my package materials and stamps. YEAH!!!! I made my cookie list. Got ingredients. YEAH!!! Good to go... Then it dawned on me - I didnt get to my cards.

I looked thru to see what I had so far, and instead of making 40 cards, I redid some of my cards in my stash... SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH dont tell. Hey - its not like its a REGIFT or anything.. call it my GREEN Christmas meaning RECYCLE/REUSE...

Today: I have two versions - one from the stash - and the remake... please enjoy!

The middle was blank so I still had the ability to manipulate it with new items.

Here is the refreshed version:

First: I added some vanilla smooch to the wreath, and some glitter {{though not too evident in the picture}}. We wanted to have some snow on the door so I used some liquid applique and the heat gun. It loooks better in real life. I then put the banner on FROM OUR HOME TO YOURS.
This year looks to be the year it will leave my stash.

This weekend is cookie baking - so I cannot promise many new cards but maybe some yummalicious goodies!

I HAVE MISSED BLOGGING

so much that I have decided to create some items over my lunch hour at work... have you any idea how difficult it becomes... you have to be sure not only that you have all your supplies, but that the area stays clean and well ... the lighting has alot to be desired... but in the meantime, I can punch my little heart out. I purchased the Martha Stewart punch, on sale and the options are endless this this guy.... but here are two of my 'sketches' with the punches. I haven't finished them, but hey its all a start.
