Just baked Cupcake!

I haven't made a 3D item for a while and was getting the itch. Knowing a dear friend of mine was having a birthday I gave it shot and put together a "oven". Let me tell you it was alot of fun! The ideas just keep going on!

The cupcake adventure was a bit more than I bargained for - but in the end it was a great little gift!

I think she liked it!!

Tiki hut

Can't you smell the salty air,
feel the soft white sand
& hear the waves crashing to shore...

I love to create cards that  paint the scene without words. I love 3D cards. Of course it helps when I love the beach too!  This little tiki hut hut base as a ton of fun to make & I used some recycle items and retired SU! stamps.

WHOooooooooooo loves Christmas

What a delight it was to open up a card from the 1SG and the kids that was handmade... they really must have been sneaky to use the materials that used! I love it!  Of course, each ornament represents them. And it replicates the  Annoying Orange, if you are familar... its our way put smiles on the teens faces when they are down!... actually they use it to annoy me more than anything!

Over at Bloggers Challenge, they have a great challenge with packaging for food... and since my salted caramel pretzel bark gets ate within the time it takes to make it, I am using the White Trash Christmas mix, which actually we make all year around!

The owl is made with a few BIG SHOT items, and I guess that is why he is so fun to make! I used the Fancy Favor box, Top Note, Stocking, then some punches: circle, boho blossoms, heart punches

Kissmas Tree

Anytime I can play with Chocolate, I am totally into it!  When I found this , I knew my gang would love it! I could customize it for their person chocolate kisses liking, and noone could complain. So I started with the Candy cane flavored, then moved to Dark chocolate, Cherry cordial and caramel... HOW FUN!!!!

No lie, when I got the bending of the paper down, I zipped thru these in no time! It requires some patience, but not much... trust me!!!

Best part, though they do not shake out, they fit into the clear envelopes from SU! HOORAY, we have a winner!!!

Again, the tutorial is at Qbee Quest blog - HERE

Mr. Poppers Penguins ... almost

I had this great idea to use Penguins are a card, then they got too big for a card, so I thought they would make great tags... however the Penguin making got outta control! ... since I was making like 15!! (reminded me of Mr. Poppers Penguins movie).

I didn't know what use for eyes, and so I grabbed some google eyes I had left from Halloween, put they were too small, so I searched in the kids old craft making/project bin, and found larger ones, which made them come alive!

Arent they cute?  I used a few different punches: circle, modern label, oval, ornament, fancy flower. It was fun to put together, as notably, you cannot make just one!

Thanksgiving favors

Thanksgiving brings all family and friends together for a big meal, a fun game of football, and maybe even a Turkey Trot 5K run. We talk about Black Friday ads, Christmas shopping /events. Its a big day. I usually hold it as an Open house/ Buffet style meal for those that have family and visit others, and friends pop in. I look forward to it.  This year is no exception.

We will rise and run a 5K, after the turkey is put in the oven. The sides are prepared the night before and will be completed upon our return from the race. It actually may sound more complicated than it really it.

I make the table favors, that actually will house Andes mints, since everyone loves that at some time during the day. I also made some for the craft fair, and they loved them. Of course I need like 20 for my day- and made 40, so I am pretty much a pro now on the "turkey" making part!

Using the matchbox die to create the boxes, and a series of punches for the turkey. I used some retired SU! paper for the favors, when it ran out I used solid colors found in the designer paper, so it looks pretty among the bowl.

Witches Goblins OH MY!

Its Witches and Goblins season...
and over at Bloggers Challenge today!

When the Stocking die was just released, these boots were all over the place... I however, had never made one. I used my die for all sorts of items just not the witches boot.. but this year I am!

I used the stocking die, embossed it and then grabbed some twizzlers for this cute little favor!

I painted with the Champayne Mist, (first time ever used) on the embossed boot and put a tag on the end.

How fun - How cute! How it makes me giggle everytime I look at it!! Come on over and play along!  Its bewitching!!!!

Sunflowers

I am BAAAAACK!!!

Where have I been?

I have been preparing for a few craft shows/open houses.  What fun!
I did use some retired papers, which made room for some new ones (wink wink)

These sunflowers were simple to make, it was putting the candies in the little dicey ... those 1 x 8 bags come in handy but they are tiny! I used M&M's, milk chocolate, white chocolate and candy corn.
HUGE HIT!

The sunflowers are scalloped circles with 3/4 inch circle punch.

Treats for Halloween

In my neck of the woods I do not get alot of Trick or Treaters... some of neighbors go a house, which changes from year to year,  where there is lots of pot luck food, good fun and of course a bonfire. The kids are  in their costumes and get a hayride to some of the "other" neighborhoods to actually trick or treat.

Due to the fact that most of the neighborhood kids are teens and they do not dress up. We have a smaller amount of those that actually "treat". I still make up treats, I still get myself dressed up and have a good time!!!

I made up some of the glassine bag treats, with simple tags for some of the items. I have also made little treat boxes which fit "fun size" treats, I went with Twix, but it looks like I will heading out for more since they are dissappearing {{ hmm, who knew that would happen?}}

The treats Peach Parfait & Pear Pizazz Treats are made with a really simple treat holder that I found online HERE. There is a PDF that you can print/save. VERY SIMPLE people. Would I mislead you?

Today at Bloggers Challenge, its all about preparing for the upcoming holiday... so get your treat holders out and share them with us!

Fab Friday Flower

Yes, its another pin/card combo, I couldn't resist. My  mass production of the same card and pin isn't in me at the moment... so everyone gets something different! I hope you do not mind.

The flowers are made from the Big Shot Island flower die. I made four blooms, wet and crumble them, once dry, I cut them in half, keeping them crumbled I use a brad to keep them together.

Happy Fall Y'all

We are approaching the fall festival season, which means for me MORE time around the campfire.. who doesn't love that?  I am a big fan. I love the smell of  campfires. I love the gathering of people and the commradery that occurs. Lucky for me, we have a lot of them here, so I do not have far to travel.

A favorite campfire treat that everyone enjoys is S'mores. Who doesn't love alittle gooey chocolate and sugary treat? I will admit, I am not into the marshmallows  unless they are roasted. However most of the time I 'd rather a roasted Fig Newton. {{OH yeah}}

I put these little goodies bags together for the kids - BIG AND SMALL, and everyone loves it. Plus, what doens't get ate, can be saved for another time. Than I do not have stale marshamallows and mushy graham crackers from being open for a while...

sadly that is how the brain works in this house..

More importantly during  the fall fests, we do drink some wine with friends. Nothing like getting your class mixed up with the others at a party and slugging down some dry nasty wine...

So a few years ago, I decided that glass tags were going with me, when we left for such events. They are easy to make.

I use a ponytail holder (hair band) and attach my fun name tag to them. I can use it on beer bottles as well.

Its the small things that make a festival successful and fun.

Pointsettia Pin and card

TWO in ONE... Pin and card!
I made a punch of these last Christmas for my coworkers and they seemed to adore them!

Using the challenge from Merry Monday was perfect!

Merry Monday Challenge

I used the pin as the focal point abut have it attached to the card on a bloom.  I have since then put a sentiment on the bloom, so that when the pin is removed, you still have an image.

I love making these pin and card combinations for friend or coworkers who I want to give alittle something to. Its a great gift! You can do this with any flower.  Go ahead try it!

Summer Birthday smooches

August birthdays by the handful are belated this year, only because I didn't move them into the calendar ... somehow after my Grams (August 3), it just didnt happen....until I was like "WAIT! ITS THE 28th of AUGUST" (yes, I know today is the 29 August).

So I quickly had to come up with a few quick birthday cards.

I used the Summer Smooches because its colorful and loud. It screams "SUMMER" and "BIRTHDAY".. Go ahead take a piece out and listen to it... mine does!

I have a few Thermal cups that have been begging to be decorated as well, so this is a cute set for a friend. I used all sorts of punches/dies for the front. From the Big Shot - Daisy2 die, Framelit die, the fancy flower punch, the modern label punch and of course the itty bitty flower punch -- add some dimensionals and WAA LA.. complete!

Rocking Horse

I haven't really used the Stocking die, for the Big Shot, until recently.  I know that its uses are endless. Besides the obvious, creating stockings, and shoes, I loved the thought of a rocking horse. With all these babies coming into the world soon, I figure it may be helpful to have something on hand to put a gift card on for those "OH NO!"{gasp!} moments.

So here it is, with bridle and all.

Of course during the snapping of pictures, I blew a bulb in my craft cave. So I do apologize for the tone change in the pictures.

Yes, how ironic that my only gift card in the home right now is for a car wash!
I did have to use 2 tops of the stocking to secure the paper that holds the gift card.

I will definately be making a few more of these... maybe there is a horse lover in the family ...
