Bloggers Challenge - Backgrounds

I always forget about this technique... have no idea what the technique is called, however it couldn't be more fun for my teenage cards. I used Versamark on the Extreme Elements stamps. Then I embossed with white embossing powder. I used daubers for the  colored ink - Gumball green, Starfruit, and Indigo.

Made two birthday cards this way.. love them!

Now it's your turn. Head over and play along with Bloggers Challenge.

Uniquely Yours

Normally, my kids get non-traditional cards for holidays, such as Valentines... just like when my son got a boxer card.  They love it! I love it! It eases the pain of being 'just like the others'.  Of course, most of their cards end up in my example stash in the long run anyway! {{yes I am one of those}}. This year will be no different for them. However I have decided that those I mail will also not be out in the red/white/pink color combo!... yeah, I am living on the edge!!

I pulled in the In Colors to make this years' Valentines for those that I will make. I love the Calypso Coral, with the white and  Pool Party as well... I wanted simple. I wanted fast and unique. Nothing gender oriented. They are  fun.

Sometimes simple is too clean for me. Sometimes, like here I add bling and its not obvious until the light catches it. Good, bad or indfferent.. guess it depends.

He was a skater boy..

Avril Lavigne once sang...."He was a skater boy, she said "see you later boy," you are too much trouble for me.... (I added that.. since I remember what they are about.. LOL)

I am trying to have some ease into teenagers birthday cards... its getting better - however still makes me cringe alittle! .. ok alot... stepping out of the box, I put this together:

Espresso Motorcycle

It was late one night over the weekend, and I was chatting (aka texting) with my dear friend, Erin, in South Carolina. She and I were "Ewwwww and Ahhh" over the new catalog ideas. I told her that I needed to get some cards completed from the Summer Mini Catalog - in which this was one of them. Her husband even gave HIS approval!

Now, I must have tried three color combinations before deciding on this one, but I am going back and doing it again in a blue hue... I love the Extreme Elements with this card.. makes it more masculine. I should have used Hempt instead of my linen thread, but hey it was late!

Without further adue:

Stamps: Extreme Elements, Motorcycle ($8.95!!!!)
