Monkeyin' around!

A few days ago, I was wallowing in pity... we all have moments like this right?  So, I spent 2 hours with the radio cranked to the point the shelves were rattling and waited to see if the law enforcements were going to check on the house... but I needed to get out of the funk... so I DANCED! and DANCED. and DANCED!!

I put this card together in 3 stages. Planning, punching and adhering the pieces!

This is a 5x7 card so it could be framed. Maybe in a bedroom for a child. Or classroom.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day! Hug the ones you love.
GO AHEAD AND DANCE!!!

Day 4 - Girly Birthday Invites

This may look to the average person as some what of a mess... when actually its a "work of art" in progress....   invites and cupcake picks.. I am a punchin lady at the moment!

They are my "speak no evil" monkeys...

Get it? No mouths .. yet...cannot speak... ok.. you are a tough crowd today!

This is the end masterpiece...

Won't they make a great invite for a 3 year old's birthday party  - since their cousin 'stole' the cupcake party idea party?
I do not have hard feelings about this, I will make whatever she wants.. but my supplies available were for cupcakes... but now the "cupcakes" that will be there - will have "monkey faces" on them. I have enjoyed punching these little monkeys out, they all have personalities of their own! When you are entering the 25 monkey stage you gotta love them!

I think they are adorable... and on your birthday you should monkey around a little!

I think the googly eyes won my sister over... I mean the flower in the hair runs a close second... but I am just sayin'.

Have a great day!
Thanks for visiting!

Hug the ones you love!

Monkey Invites / World Card Making Day

So its Saturday, October 3, World Card Making day, at 730 am. I am out of bed for one particular reason... these little monkeys! I had to get them done, since honestly are so darn cute, and virtually its all I could think about. I make a pot of coffee and sit down to complete the 20 invitations I know I need to complete by 2 pm. I prepared most of the punches Friday night, so it was just getting them pieced together. That is how I roll with the masses... however, I think I was finished with the coffee before I was completed with the invitations.

To my misfortune, I didn't get two separate pictures of the invite, I only have this one.

I creased the green scalloped leaves for dimension. I also inked the trunk pieces.

Punches: Scalloped oval, small oval, 1 1/2 circle, 1/4 circle, 1/2 circle, flower from boho flower punch
Cardstock: Chocolate chip, close to cocoa, kraft, black, glorious green, pacific point, real red, summer sun, whisper white
Others: Chocolate chip marker, clip art bananas, stamped balloons are from retired birthday set.

A monkey for a smile

Lets face it - when you see a monkey - you smile.

It doesn't matter what your mood, where you are, or anything... you smile.

When I received a call about getting some ideas out for a one year old birthday party invites, and to have monkeys on it... I instantly smiled... they are so cute. Next I had to immediately pull punches out and create, since I do not have a monkey of sorts in my collection. (I know my kids were amazed too!) So this is what I have completed... and nothing further.

I did think about some bananas for the monkey, but they bunch that I made weren't working well for this size monkey. With those ideas aside, I headed to bed. Little did I know I would have to publish the monkeys to get a vote on the cutest one, since no one in the house could possibly decide which one they liked best.

The four of them together.

Next I have to put the dam monkeys on card... but they are cute, so I will be smiling while I do it. I think I can make it work, afterall my other chores to complete are baking banana bread (merely a coincidence) and apple crisp. Plenty of time to play while they bake away!

Have a great Wednesday! Can you believe its almost OCTOBER??? wowser!
