WHOooooooooooo loves Christmas

What a delight it was to open up a card from the 1SG and the kids that was handmade... they really must have been sneaky to use the materials that used! I love it!  Of course, each ornament represents them. And it replicates the  Annoying Orange, if you are familar... its our way put smiles on the teens faces when they are down!... actually they use it to annoy me more than anything!

Over at Bloggers Challenge, they have a great challenge with packaging for food... and since my salted caramel pretzel bark gets ate within the time it takes to make it, I am using the White Trash Christmas mix, which actually we make all year around!

The owl is made with a few BIG SHOT items, and I guess that is why he is so fun to make! I used the Fancy Favor box, Top Note, Stocking, then some punches: circle, boho blossoms, heart punches

Mr. Poppers Penguins ... almost

I had this great idea to use Penguins are a card, then they got too big for a card, so I thought they would make great tags... however the Penguin making got outta control! ... since I was making like 15!! (reminded me of Mr. Poppers Penguins movie).

I didn't know what use for eyes, and so I grabbed some google eyes I had left from Halloween, put they were too small, so I searched in the kids old craft making/project bin, and found larger ones, which made them come alive!

Arent they cute?  I used a few different punches: circle, modern label, oval, ornament, fancy flower. It was fun to put together, as notably, you cannot make just one!

Little Birthday Bug

Ahhh April birthdays... just when I thought I have them covered, more keep popping them up.

I went with BUGS for starters.  Lady Bug, Dragonfly, whatever I could find ..then I remembered some punch art I had seen pooping up on the Blogsphere.

So here is my version:

I added some glitter to the wings. I used adhesive sheets from SU! so I could just punch out the shape I wanted. WAY TOO EASY!!!

Much to my dismay, my daughter said this looked "young"... at almost 15, she has quite an opinion on my cards nowadays. I do not believe I will be showing her the clown I made for a 8 year old - that might not be "fitting" for him... oh well.

You little devil!

"You little devil"
Usually followed by a "you shouldn't have..." comment.
How many times do we hear that?  Recently, when I heard it, the light bulb went off and I was like... "yep- this little devil is going to do something about it!" and today.. I did.

My little punch devil

They are created with many pieces, but all well worth the time put into them.

I added little treats for some of my closest coworkers. Though they are on a weight loss, I didn't give them anything that would tip them over.

Aren't they fun? I mean, it brings a smile to your face. I have to thank Ellen Kemper again, for her main idea, and I manipulated her devil to confirm to mine!

Let see punches in the short version: 1/2, 3/4 circle, 2 step owl punch, word window punch, 2 step bird punch, small oval, modern label, scalloped oval, slot punch

Happy Valentines Day!

Have a great day!

Eskimo kiss

I have two teens... two totally different people. I have a passionate one and one that gives it to me straight.  Yes, I have a daughter and a son. Though my son is the oldest, my daughter pulls a close second with her mature personality and adult nature.
We had some snow this weekend. Which meant I had an assignment - to take take pictures of my daughter for her portfolio... what a "fun" job! .. however it was 22 degrees out - and tromping around in the 4 inches of snow wasn't as much fun!

I got 65 pictures snapped - in which she like 15 of them... figures... though I love her - she drives me crazy!  She owes me...{wink wink}

Her payment ..??   She gave me cold Eskimo Kisses!

The punch art was totally CASEd from Ellen Kemper. I have been holding on to this for a long long time! I finally could use it  - and I love it!   Using all sorts of circle punches, oval punches, heart punches it all came together with only a few redos!   I used Marina Mist  and Wild Wasabi, with Very Vanilla. They cardbase is spritzed with Vanilla Smooch.

Cake for a Princess

This inspiration ran like fire in my head!
I love the flowers.
Colors.
Mix of shapes.

I was inpired to keep the diagonal pattern and the roses.
So I went as far as to duplicate then.

I like the rosettes. I like the clean look. What I do not like, is that the "texture" on the card doesn't like it stay close nicely... my little OCD I guess...

Have a great day!

Silly scarecrow

I may live in a rural area, but we never see too many scarecrows out. I know the old addage of "scaring the birds away from crops" but I have seen more faux owls out in gardens/ more than scarecrows. Further, why are they not out in the summer- but more fall? I mean, most of the crops are being harvested in the fall, which means they need protection in the summer? .... my thoughts...only my thoughts...

However, a few weekends ago I was at the World Championship Punkin Chunkin, in Delaware. This is nothing you could ever imagine! I mean seriously, you may "think" you know this but unless you experience it -its unimaginable!  We had a fantastic time!  While I was there  - there were actual SCARECROWS in the fields! I mean, this farmer allowed this event to occur on his property and he still had crops in areas in which were yet to be harvested.

Needless to say, it got me thinking... I can so punch that!!!! ... so I did

I cannot tell you how fun this was... I mean, the punches got to me after a while but in the end, I liked it.  There are circle punches, oval punches, 2 step bird, scraps cut out.. and that hair.. oh my gosh, I think it was more time involved than getting the punches right!

In the end I made two of them. They were fun. A huge hit at work, so now, its off to make caramel corn and a few more scarecrows to attach as tags. {{they are so spoiled!}}

Easter Monday

I hope everyone had a wonderful Spring break  - Easter  day!  I had some time to enjoy moments with the family and friends from out of town. Which put me behind in getting some Easter goodies out - but hey... I got the most important ones completed!

I had been thinking of this - and then when I say Monika Davis do hers - I knew I had to complete mine.  Of course, the 3 year old niece didn't want to be bothered with anything on Easter Sunday. It was all we had to get her to egg hunt - but she did.   I made these for her - and in the lunch tote was an addition to her Loving Family Dollhouse- Summer Fun - with a kayak & horse!
Based on Monika's invites

The rest of the gang got Cinnamon Clusters - Peanuts & Cashews - with bunnies on them.  And the lovely niece got Ranch crackers - since she cannot have nuts. ... yet!

Happy Easter Monday everyone !

Hello... My name is FROSTY

Its beginning to look alot like...

OK ITS NOT .... but you know...

Its inevitable that it will arrive sooner than I want it to - since I am not a snow bunny of any sort. Sure I love to watch it fall... and snuggle in the house, with my coffee and loved ones, but then reality kicks in with hats, gloves, shovels and that once "pretty white powder" turns into ugly brown mush.. blah blah blah. I do consider myself lucky.. well up until last year when we had two major storms that landed us with snow that we had to measure in FEET - and that just caused me to lose it all around for my love of the white stuff!!!

Here is my little snowman (CASE from here) - looking up at the snow falling - imagine him twirling around in all the snowflakes, as they fall from the sky.. ..

I used circle punches (body, head), the owl punch (eyes, mouth), star punch (nose), snowflake punch (arms), some liquid applique (for puffy snow). I tore the white paper and sponged it with bashful blue ink. I popped his head up on a dimensional.

Thank you for stopping by!!!

Pretty Petal Pizazz

So does this card look familiar? Yes, its a CASE from a Stampin Up! magazine.

I love the metal look of this card but I do not have the metal tags, so I had to make one!

FAUX METAL TAG: I used Aluminum foil (glued on a piece of scrap paper) and circle punches to make the tag! Depending on the side of the circle tag you want - would depend on the punches used. Punch your smallest circle first, then your larger one OUTSIDE it. It was simple and easy, and I made a bunch of these, so I could just pop on a sentiment when I needed it and then off in the mail it would go!

Ingredients:

Stamps: Petal Pizazz, Spreckled (roller); CS: River Rock (returning! July 1), Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie, Certainly Celery; Celery ribbon, faux metal tag, dimensionals

IA122- Better late than never!

Ok, so I have been absent for a alittle longer than I thought.. but what is that saying.. "When it rain it pours?".. I am not yet back 100% but please bear with me, I will get there. The sun is shining and spring is in the air.

Here was my card for Gretchen Barron's Inspiration in Action Challenge 122 , which I missed posting for.

I used marker on the Upsy Daisy stamp and then a light mist of water before applying it to the paper, to give the water painting look.

Ingredients: Stamp - Upsy Daisy, Whimsical Words; CS- Pomegranate, Pink Pirouette, So Saffron, Whisper White, Shades of Spring DSP; So Saffron Ribbon; scalloped edge punch, circle punches; dimensionals

Clean Simple Man

Did you think this was going to be blank?

Were you expected a hot steamy babe here?

Or are you under the impression there is no such thing as a

"Clean Simple Man"?

Now that I have your attention, here is todays card:

Ingredients: Stamp: Starring You (which is on the SAB list & in Big Catty); CS: Shades of Spring, Garden Green, Black, Vanilla; Ribbon- Celery; Ink: Garden Green; Others: Scallop Edge punch, Circle punches (1 1/2 & 1 3/4), Dimensionals

Here is a closer look at the ribbon that I just overlaped (sneaking some glue dots in the ribbon layers) and then used Sticky Tape to hold the ribbon down all together.

Scrappin my Erin

Ok, so I haven't scrapbooked in forever... and I do not mean forever as in.. months, I mean years. I tried to see that last thing I actually scrapbooked, and located some of my sisters wedding... September 2006.. YIKES!!! I know now that I have to get back into a few pages here and there... just to get it done, afterall I do enjoy it...

So, no better way to get my scrappin groove back - but then to take a few fabulous pictures of my darling friend Erin, and showcase them!

The page is very simple. I used the dots/circles that were on the sentiment that I wanted to use. I used the colors also in the sentiment to carry out on the page.

Two views of the one page, but I couldn't get any picture of it perfect.. sorry!

CS: Kraft, Sahara, Border blue, Not so navy

Its your birthday!

So make a wish and here's to all of them coming true!

And a milk carton with goodies to help your day get even better!

So the Shades of Spring DSP is used on both these items. I used a tutorial from Splitcoaststampers for the Milk carton (you can get two from 8 1/2 x 11 CS). The "Today is your birthday" comes from FYI stamp set. I used the coordinating CS colors - Certainly Celery, So Saffron, & Pixie Pink on both projects.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

TO ALL OTHER FELLOW PISCEANS!!!!

Here's to You!

When fellow co- workers leave, though your are saddened for the loss of the fact they will no longer be here at the office, you are excited for their new adventures. Whether its hanging out with grandbabies, or building puppet stages, they are going to enjoy life as they have put in their time with the working world.

So here's to you!

I used the color combo from the Diva Coffee Break Designs, first.

Then I used punches for the bird, and sentiment cloud. I used the swirls from SU Backgrounds I and the pearls from the Pretties Kit. I discovered that spraying a light mist of water/rubbing alcohol on the CS before running it thru the Big Shot, allowed the print to be more vivid. Sure its not news to everyone but I was like "WHOA.. what a difference! "

I was asked about Valentines.. and why I haven't really posted any.... Truth is, I just haven't got into making Valentine cards yet, and I know I have limited time. Its not that I am not feeling the pressure - believe me I AM.. but I just haven't focused on ONE that I am going to make. I have ideas, but not the entire scheme yet. Bare with me people... please... its bad enough I lost my site meter and have to locate it! ...

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

H-E-L-L-O BIRDYYYYYYYYYYYYYY..

What I really wanted was a clever card to put in the package I was sending to my soldier. What I ended up with, was two cards, slightly different, but both to be used for whatever occasion I wanted... birthday, get well, thank you, whatever...

He ended up getting the blue bird... because honestly he loves and supports what I do and I think he would have liked him better... and he will be my best critic when I know hes received it. I think the inside read "Some Birdy is waiting for you to come home"... or something like that.

CS: Chocolate Chip, Pacific Point, Ruby Red, Kraft, Old Olive, Yo yo Yellow, White
Punches: 2 inch circle, scallopped circle, hole punch
Leaves are hand cut from the Petal Pizazz stamp set

A monkey for a smile

Lets face it - when you see a monkey - you smile.

It doesn't matter what your mood, where you are, or anything... you smile.

When I received a call about getting some ideas out for a one year old birthday party invites, and to have monkeys on it... I instantly smiled... they are so cute. Next I had to immediately pull punches out and create, since I do not have a monkey of sorts in my collection. (I know my kids were amazed too!) So this is what I have completed... and nothing further.

I did think about some bananas for the monkey, but they bunch that I made weren't working well for this size monkey. With those ideas aside, I headed to bed. Little did I know I would have to publish the monkeys to get a vote on the cutest one, since no one in the house could possibly decide which one they liked best.

The four of them together.

Next I have to put the dam monkeys on card... but they are cute, so I will be smiling while I do it. I think I can make it work, afterall my other chores to complete are baking banana bread (merely a coincidence) and apple crisp. Plenty of time to play while they bake away!

Have a great Wednesday! Can you believe its almost OCTOBER??? wowser!

Summer time = Watermelon time!

Finally the sun decided to shine and its been nice. I have enjoyed seeing what the sun looked like again. Its been a while since its shown its face! I was starting to worry since my garden needs some sunshine to grow, but without a doubt I am sure in a few days I will have to pull the hose over to the garden and have to water. But in the meantime, I found a great deal on watermelon and was cutting it down to bite sizes when it dawned on me.. A WATERMELON.. that represents summer... so after I consumed almost half of the seedless watermelon, I hurried to the craft room and attempted to put one together. Afterall, its WATER and a MELON, it cannot be that bad for you- now can it? Happy Summer!
