to heal your heart

Oh its been a rough couple of days... besides the countdown to the departure of my son, and the end of school, a friend of mine has passed away.  

I haven't spent a lot of time in the craft cave but I did put this together quickly in my head it was a little different, but overall I am pleased. 

I think its more masculine (YEAH!!) for a sympathy card, and that tickles me pink!  Now its writing the words inside that I have to take a moment to complete.. always the hardest.

Happily they go...

Friend of mine recently got married and then immediately went to their honeymoon - like the traditional wedding celebrations... leaving at the end of the reception to get to the airport and go on their way... very cool! 

 

The wedding was very traditional and beautiful.  Though I was not personally there, I was there in spirit. 6 months ago our wedding dates were on the same day... we changed ours so we could have the venue we {1SG} really wanted. 

  

So their wedding card arrived about 4 days before they got married... the got pulled it out of the stack - since she obviously loves me {the dog} and remembered my smell.. there wasn't treats rubbed on it or anything for her attention {wink wink}.  I mailed this  Surfs Up card I mailed just yesterday, so they will received when they return from their honeymoon... and recover from their event...

Little Christmas Snowflake

I have really enjoyed the Pretty Pink Posh 10 minute Craft Dash challenges. It keeps me simple. It also makes me really look at my stamp sets and see what I will have to use. Plus 10 minutes a card... are you kidding me... this I love!! 

Here my 10 minute card - missing a few elements I wanted - however it still unique!

I used the colors from Dynamic Duos, another fun talented group with great challenges.  Now I will make a few more, since it was easy enough!

I finally made some time for ME in the craft cave... WAHOOOO!!!

... unfortunately, I had to make a few sympathy cards. I grabbed the colors from Dynamic Duos and went to work! 

 

Since its been a while, I needed a warm up - you can see it at the bottom of the post!

 

The Summer Silhouettes really makes a great sympathy card without any trouble. I used it with Pool Party and Soft Suede, since they were the Duo colors.

 

 

 

 

 

Here is the inside of the card. Which I reflects almost a duplicate of the front. I very much like this!

Last, here was my warm up card... I used the By the Seashore stamp set, with the retired FYI, and put this together too.  This card actually is going to a friend of a close friend whose going through some rough times in her life! I just want to send her a HUG!!

So pretty

My secret little layout when I am "in need" of a quick card. It usually consists of scraps of DSP that never make it to the scrap bin, and I quickly put layers together for a quick card.  

 

 

This card went south to a great friend of mine who just had a birthday  {29 again..wink wink}. I didn't want to girly but I love the sparkle this card has. This Summer Silhouettes stamp is a go to stamp so far for me!

Silhouettes birthday!

 

 Not your average card, and not your average birthday!

 

I used the Summer Silhouettes stamp set for most of the card.... which is just so much fun!  What you cannot see is that the Coral Calypso circle is actually popped up and behind the sky blue/Pool Party cardstock.  The card measures 4 1/4 x 4. Alittle odd but it works for me!

Another quick and simple birthday!

When my DSP scraps get outta control {can you imagine that?? lol}, I am loving this sort of card to use it up. Its a great look..and soo simple!

 

By changing out the DSp and the sentiment, you can make alot of cards for your stash!

I say that is WONDERFUL!!!!

Cheerful Treat Birthday

Hello! 

When you have sunsets and views like this - sometimes it hard to put your butt in a craft cave and be creative... but I have... so I hope you enjoy! 

 

When in need of some quick birthday cards, I run to my DSP.

They match/coordinate and then I just have to work on the layout. Which today I was simple, due to essence of time. 

 

The Cheerful Treats DSP (retired) has so many options and for birthdays, it just works perfectly. 

  

I used the Melon Mambo and Pink Pirouette with the DSP and then Petite Pairs for the sentiment. Added a few buttons and circle punches.. WA LA - FINISHED!

Birthday Butterflies

Pal Paper Art

I have been sitting on these colors for a long time (Sept 9, 2011 - maybe?)  and now I am finally getting down to getting them somewhere.  I love the Calypso Coral color! and with Grey! 

 I would love an outfit in my closet made of it too!  or even just a scarf...? 

 

I wanted some textures. I wanted to only have a little bit of Grey with my  Calypso Coral and Red Riding Hood. It worked out well. Until I realized that my Red Riding Hood paper is just a tad different than my ribbon color, but guess what - open a new pack of paper and wa la it matches.. must have been a change in the color dye someplace down the line.



I apologize for the lighting, but its not been very good to me!

 

I used a Coral base, with layering the Grey under the DSP of Coral. Then I crimpled the grey and tucked it on a just the lower corner. I used the scallop circle punch for the outside of the Precious Butterflies stamped in Red Riding Hood, I used the edge punch on the Red Riding Hood CS before attaching the ribbon.  Finished off the card with adding the Petite Pairs, Happy Birthday.

Just alittle blue...

When you receive a call from a coworker stating that her mother passed away  - its not the way anyone wants to start their week.  I cannot imagine it myself! I mean her mother was her best friend, and the close bond they had  ... whew.. I cannot even put words down.. but I stamp instead...

I used the En Francais background stamp, in Not Quite Navy, layering it on Baja Breeze - different huh?  Its not really showing up on the photo.. sorry

Using the Elements of Style for was my main goal - and I do love the turn out.  I added the pearls for some softness, as well as stamping the sentiment from Petite Pairs on Vellum. I then adhered the vellum on the Baja Breeze cardstock, before I punched it with the Oval punch. The Baja Breeze seam binder was a great addition too!
