Happily they go...

Friend of mine recently got married and then immediately went to their honeymoon - like the traditional wedding celebrations... leaving at the end of the reception to get to the airport and go on their way... very cool!

The wedding was very traditional and beautiful.  Though I was not personally there, I was there in spirit. 6 months ago our wedding dates were on the same day... we changed ours so we could have the venue we {1SG} really wanted.

So their wedding card arrived about 4 days before they got married... the got pulled it out of the stack - since she obviously loves me {the dog} and remembered my smell.. there wasn't treats rubbed on it or anything for her attention {wink wink}.  I mailed this  Surfs Up card I mailed just yesterday, so they will received when they return from their honeymoon... and recover from their event...

Crafting for the Big day...

I have waited all my life for this moment...  and after being together over 7 years with 1SG, it happened..  5/03/2013.

Here with my kids, and both our parents... now if the fathers would look like a little more enthused.

These chinese lanterns provided my first "Honey you were right" moment.. only minutes after we were married!

Our Rings

I painted the underneath of my shoes for fun shoe shots - too bad the weather earlier in the week was rainy and it mostly was mud when we walked out to the river.

These are the bracelets I made for the Mother of the Bride, Mother of the Groom, and my gram... the special ladies in our lives

The favors for the reception..

More to come... Thanks for stopping by!

Shower Thank yous - Summer Silhouette

My bridal dinner was 2 weeks ago. My MOH did a great job hosting the dinner at a local restaurant. There was 12 of us that enjoyed conversation and 2 people won some great prizes!

Now its time for me to get out those Thank you cards. Using the colors and "theme" of the wedding, I made a handful of cards - since its been a long time since I have stamped, I wasn't sure where my mojo was going to be at this time. WARNING: Post is picture heavy.

Using the Eggplant as the card base and using the Lucky Limeade as a touch of color makes these cards pop!

The simplicity of the white card with some paper piercing is fun too!

Simple White and Limeade.

Different piercing with another flower from Summer Silhouette added isn't too bad

Wisteria with white.

I cannot promise that I will post again to after the big day... but you never know... sometimes a girl needs alittle down time!

Celebration in the making

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
HAPPY 2013!!!
HAPPY YEAR OF MY WEDDING!!!!

Yes, we put a date on the calendar over Thanksgiving and now the race is on... for me to figure out a wedding and all its details. Its not that I haven't had enough time. We have been engaged for ... hmmm...3 years...I know I know I know... but seriously I wasn't the girl with the 3 ring binder full of details of my "wedding".

So I had to get Save the dates out before Christmas, so all our out of state friends and family would have enough planning time. I didn't make my first deadline...given to me by the 1SG, for a few reasons, a) needed to draft Save the dates in between Christmas cards, and craft shows was more difficult than I imagined; b)the guest list was increasing every time I turned around;  c) the date moved twice due to venue. ... thats my story!

1SG is actively involved with planning. Once the date was decided, he helped choose the colors {eggplant, wisteria, sand and limeade}, decide on the reception venue, groomsmen attire, his ring, designs/ theme of wedding and more.... now once you pick your chin up, also know that he is painting our wedding "guest book" - which more details will follow on that end.

Once I got the save the dates mailed, we discussed wedding favors... after three different designs, 1SG choose the pillow box, which will house chocolates... hello I am like 30 minutes from HERSHEY... not such a stretch for us! Simple for me. Its these flowers that might drive me mad first!

Any advice for me?

This wedding is a simple elegant wedding. The teens will give me away in a small ceremony on Friday night, and then Saturday is the reception. We are trying to use local resources most of our guests are from out of town, we figure we will support Central PA as much as we can! WAHOO!!

So I am not really hiding outside the blogsphere, I am just trying to keep on trucking along... May isn't that far away!

Wedding wishes

WOW! I think wedding season moved from June to August!
Maybe its due to all the rain we had.. fat chance but it seems to have looked that way when I review my calendar!

This darling couple couldn't wait much longer (she's 8 months pregnant) and got married Friday, 10 August 2012. Small family gathering on Friday and then Saturday was a relaxed reception at his family's house.   It was a great time!

I have been friends with Chris for 15 years. Seems almost impossible that its been that long. He and Tabi have been together for 6. The got engaged in February, and originally planned on going to go to the Justice of the Peace, then they planned this celebration 8 weeks ago.

I used the white on white with a splash of color for a wedding card. I liked the simple flowers on the Bordering of Romance set used a framelit, and then embossed the white frame. Popped it up on dimensionals and tied a bow... BAM! Complete!!!

Simple little Poppy Wedding

AHHHH PARADISE!

Location: Smathers Beach, Key West, Florida
Date: August 9, 2012
Wedding of Christine Good & Raymond Sprague Jr.

They arrive by Cruise and by Sunset they will be wed.
(and back to the ship tp finish their cruise!)

Since this isn't their first rodeo, they are playing it simple and low key...and I wish I was there... but I will be in spirit!

Putting together simple wedding was the perfect thing. I had a few ideas but most of my "focal point ideas" were too large. I searched and then remembered this flower that is among the Thanks for Caring set. I embossed the background, popped up the framelit and wrapped some ribbon on the center pieces.

Black White Wedding with a POP

August has become the new wedding month, I swear...
Not mine.. but two others... just days apart.

So I had two ideas in mind... and they were pretty simple...

Simple yet elegant.

I like them in both the Poppy Parade and Daffodil Delight.

Then I made four others- using Real Red, Whisper White, Concord Crush and Basic Grey. All of which I love and it will be a HUGE decision to see who gets what!

Coffee and Coral

I may have told you before but I love the Calypso Coral... so when I say this dress, I was like OH MY HEAVENS! .. .who knows if I can even wear such a thing, but I would try!

Three Sirens
So, no surprise when I saw this challenge! It was going to happen no matter what!

CR84FN Color ChallengeCR84FN Color Challenge

I love the Early Espresso tones with the Coral, its earthy, and just wows me!  I grabbed my Fun Flower die and some coffee filters and went to town. Then I used a dobber and inked it up.

After putting the flowers together I added some glitter to the center and then rhinestones at the bottom to add just a touch more bling!

This technique is fun to do! And simple simple simple!
Go ahead, give it try yourself!!!!

The beauty of the Sea

Ok, so as much as I want to tell you about the love story behind this (not mine),I have to give your the short version since it spans... oh... about 5 years...

How they met: At the beach, he worked as a SCOPES photographer during the day and some nights at some greasy chicken place on the boardwalk. She visited with friends and family quite frequently and though attempted to fight the feelings she had from day one - she knew it was meant to be.

They kept their romance for 2 summers as a long distance, "see ya when I get there" type of relationship. By the end of summer number 2, she was there all the time and he never minded a bit.

Fast forward to 6 days ago, she purposes...sets the "beachy" mood in their apartment...

and pops THE question...in a way of just telling their story ...

With a moment or two of not knowing what was going on.. he says YES!  And she puts on  his engagement ring... with the impression of "marry me" inside.

What a beautiful fairytale. ... now if I could get their picture... this would be a great ending to my telling it.. but I couldn't wait much longer!

HAPPY I DO ....

If time is not on your side to really THINK about a wedding card... why in the world so you do???? I had this issue... actually this am... at 0530, when the alarm when off and I said " I cannot believe its May 26!" I then put my feet on the floor and turned around where I got TWO LARGE BLUE EYES looking at me and said..."UMM Seriously? I need to get a wedding card out to Wise" (sp?)... I was alittle terrified... I knew of this wedding.. didn't realize WHEN it was, and knew that due to travel it wasn't going to be possible to go.

Off to the craft cave I went..

I spent about 15 minutes looking to see what was cut already, and what I could put together. And then I knew that I only had a short amount of time to put this together... I managed to throw a few items in my little scrapping tote to attempt during my lunch break.  I knew that their colors were red... so how fitting when I saw I had some Cherry Chobbler Cardstock  already cut and ready to my tote!

So less than 1 hour, I got this accomplished:

excuse the nasty pictures - since lighting in the office really sucks - and it was with a cell phone..

 Have a great day!

Happy I DO day!!!!

Many of you can recall the moment you received an invitation to a wedding that you knew you would remember for a lifetime - right? I am not talking about JUST YOUR OWN.. but you know what I am talking about.. the wedding that is hosted by people that love to throw a good party, or its during a particular time of year, or you get to travel to some grande place that you have wanted to go but just needed the excuse... know what I mean???

Well, my fiancee received a wedding invitation, from one of his soldiers, the wedding day is December 31, 2010. Of course I was like NEW YEARS EVE ? I WANT TO GET MARRIED ON NEW YEARS EVE!!!! He paid no mind to me...LOL!! He filled out the RSVP by the given date and then said "Well, you better get a card ready"... I freaked out a little not knowing if we were attending or not, and when he smiled and said "NYE in Michigan, are you sure you can handle it??" WAHOOOOOOOO-- I will take NYE anyplace that I can get dressed up and be an adult!!!! {{ dance the jig}}

So ladies (and gents) the wedding card:

The close up of the flowers- which were cut by the Big Shot using the smallest flower on the Flower Fusion.

I used Concord Crush with just a touch of Pear Pizzazz. I wished for elegance, without too much fluff.. I added just a few pearls on some of them. Now I have to find a paded envelope to travel with - since we are flying out to Michigan and I do not want too much repair on arrival.
Now what to get as a gift???? UGH!

O MOTHER OF PEARL!!!!

When I found these cute little pearls, I didn't know what I was going to do with them... and then I sat on them for a long time. I tried to use some for the christmas mistletoe, and then it dawned on me that I needed to use them for 'pretty cards'. So here is my first attempt at a pretty card..

You cannot see the little holes on the scalloped edge, nor do you see the texture on the burgundy color CS. I like it.

Maybe the "Best is yet to be"
