with Sympathy

Two families have lost love ones this week. My heart is heavy for those families & the memories of the loved ones lost. I cannot find the words for either card to be mailed out and I have cried each day & held my loved ones extra tight.

Slate grey with Bermuda Bay, Pool Party & Cabana are the colors I put together for this card.  Clean & simple all the way. Pearls to accent the flowers.

Fancy Flower Thanks.

Shamelessly, I have been making cards, that I need to send immediately. Nothing really in my "stash" - but I am trying! I had 4 thank you cards I needed to get out and most would have just duplicated the card. I tried. I used the same colors, but made them all different. I love the Lucky Limeade with Early Espresso, of course the pop of Daffodil helps too!

I flipped the sketch, and with that, I am not sure if it meets the qualifications.
You can join too!    You have until Thursday, January19 - so do it today!

Little Fall Treats

I made some Top Note treats.. with Hersheys Chocolate Nuggets... 3 chocolates fit in the treat holder.  I made a few for the coworkers I work directly with.

The Designer Paper is now retired, but I barely used it - and these ladies do not mind.
I scored the Top Note at  two spots - near the middle - and then just wrapped the chocolates - simple and fun..

Just alittle treat for the gals! Of course, one suggested I could do this same thing and put a gift card in under the chocolate... huh...what an idea!

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great day!

Its MY BIRTHDAY BLISS!

Hey, its my birthday!!!

I have to admit I got "celebrated out" from Dr. Suess's birthday growing up, so it kinda lost its flair for a while. Though many friends wishing me endless birthday wishes have helped me greatly overcome this, I still feel like with all the 'other' birthdays on this day - I do not celebrate ME enough.

So, with that being said, not only am I celebrating ME today, I am taking ALL week and doing it. Now I do not get any fancy vacation- or wild parties, but I am making some birthday goodies all week long!

Todays card - Simple Birthday Bliss!

Using Birthday Bliss, from the SU! set, Birthday Bliss, which you can get FREE with a $50! purchase until the end of March! I used the large oval punch and scallop oval punches for the sentiment. I added some rhinestones to the sentiment oval and on the top corner of the card. I used the Tab punch to make the cups.. .you can do - just check out your scraps! I used the Square punch for the Rockabilly DSP squares. Of course the Rockabilly DSP is retired but its still a big favorite of mine. The cups are on dimensionals!

Happy Birthday Wishes go to:

Dr. Suess (Duh!), Jon Bon Jovi (musican), Yahoo (15 years!!), Daniel Craig (actor), Luke Pritchard (the Kooks), Ben Roethlisberger (Steelers), Desi Arnaz (actor), Chris Martin (Coldplay), Cory Zellers & my loveliest aunt Carol Negley (Lakeland, FL) & ME!!!!!

Coconut Tree

It was a luau themed 12 year old birthday party, and though many were donning lei's and hula skirts, it was my daughter who said "Mom, can you make a coconut tree." and this was 2 hours before party time. Not to panic, I got my punches out, the oval scallop and the oval and my circle punches and just made it happen.... probably because I have been thinking about this card for two days now. I popped the coconuts on dimensionals and crinkled the paper for the leaves.

Because I had only thought of the outside, and not much for the center, I allowed her to stamp the sentiments. I then remembered I could make a sun with a flower punch I had, which she really liked. She said "no" to any sand, or grass. And then I was like, we can make a lei for the envelope- but then she voted to put it in the center... to seperate the sentiment from her signature. So this was the inside (alittle crooked- but it works for her)

And then it was finished. We did stamp some flowers on the envelope, in bright colors to make the card and Luau them.

Thank you for looking!
