Happy Birthday dear you...

My daughter is taking talent classes, in which she is concentrating on fashion as well. And if you haven't noticed, the NEON colors are making a return..  I cannot seem to wrap myself around it - but in due time I guess I will. So here was a color combination she chose for me to imitiate.

Polyvore Color Inspiration

I used Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight with White. Clean. Bright. Crisp.


Now I found this sketch from Card Patterns. I wasn't sure I could make it all happen.. but I like it. I think I should have added more yellow, but I added the rhinestone at the top where I could have added another yellow object.

 This was a challenge. The colors, the bright colors... and then making it work with the CPS, well, I am glad its over!

Melon Mambo Monday

I have to admit, Melon Mambo was my absolute favorite pinks for a long time.. I know its isn't too new to the SU Color Family, but it seems like when I need pink, I go with Melon.  Weird, because, I really am not a pink gal. I like it every once in a while, but I am trying to use it more... like 5 other colors I continue to stare at and never use!

So, I kept it simple. 

I used the Melon Mambo along with Crumb Cake DSP, then punched the large scallop circle in Melon. I used Melon ribbon along the bottom. I stamped the En Francais background stamp on Crumb Cake then cut 4 layers of the Big Shot Island Floral die,  crumbled them and then cut them in half. I used the itty bitty flower punch for the center and attached all with a brad. I am trying to make sure when I make cards, I do the envelop as well, so I ran the Crumb cake envelope thru the polka dot embossing folder for the Big Shot.

SSC146- Thinking of You

My version of the Sketch Challenge from Stamping 411

I used the Apricot CS (retiring soon) with the Melon Mambo. Never would have thought about them before, but it fell into place. I like the look of the colors together.

I did sponge the Rose with Pink Passion... not sure why. I think it was a mix up since I was going to use Pink Passion in the first place.. But that is ok, RIGHT?

It feels like SPRING!!!

I will take this spring like weather, I am missing my flower gardens! I did receive two gorgeous flower arrangements for my birthday, so it does have alittle "springtime" flare in the house already! HOORAY for that!

With that said, todays card:

Ingredients: CS: Melon textured, Retired DSP; Stamps: Whimsical Words; Punches: scallop oval, wide oval, 5 petal, corner rounder; Melon ribbon & rhinestones.

Never more than a thought away..

This Shades of Spring DSP is becoming a quick favorite of mine! I love all the colors even thought I have only used one sheet! I mixed it with Melon and Celery- added some brads, ribbon and then punched the edges of the layered paper.

I call this my Carole'Anne card !!! I hope you like it!

Valentine Treat ... for the Co Workers

I love these little treat holders. It fits a 3x 5 cello bag, which fits all sorts of candies! I was able to put a Reese's PB Cup in there with 2 DOVE chocolates!.. WOWSER!!! The Coworkers are just going to love them!

The treat is 3 3/8 x 10 1/2 - scored at 4, 4 1/2 & 5. EASY PEASY!!!! Decorate as you wish.. Makes my life alittle easier when the daughter how now announced she wants them too! .. So in hopes it fits the candies she wants, we will busy little gals in the craft room!

Here are a few of the ones I made. I took advantage of the IN COLORS, to stay away from some of the traditional colors for the holiday.

I have both men and women in the office, so its fun to hear their comments. One particular says to me, "Did you know you gave this to me empty?"... we laugh and never fails that I get a note on the thing that says "FILL ME"... Good times!

I used Kraft cardstock as the base, and then Bermuda Bay, Razzleberry & Melon textured for my hearts. Heart & three hearts punch, and then Bermuda Bay or Melon Ribbon to close them.
YES I CLOSED THEM WITH RIBBON, so you had to work for your goods!

Mmmmm Melon

While we finish off any of the weekends celebration foods, I thought of putting Melon with Kraft, and white for alittle holiday card. It still a work in process - like I think I might remove the brads - maybe another center flower before the brad... but I am still working on it.

Also- Saturday, September 12 is a big day here at Create Embellish Adore..can you guess it??? ... come on now... its my one year Blog-aversary... when I told the kids they looked at me with that typical "your strange mom" teenage face they give me more and more these days and then gave me smiles with thumbs Up.. nothing more said... ha ha .. got to love em!!! With the passing of icons of all sorts..Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson and Billy Mayes - seems all to fitting for some sympathy cards.

I used some stickles on some of the flower buds.
