Birthday Blooms

Blooms using the Vintage Vogue flowers, with a textured Honeycomb background in hues of Coral & Strawberry  -- what a better way to celebrate a birthday? I hope the MIL likes it as much as her son did.

I threw the banner greetings on there since some of the other fonts were pushing this to another layout. It met the 1SGT standards, so I am good.

Thanks for stopping by! Hug the ones you love! Have a great day!

Oh soo pretty...

There seems to be a psneumonia epidemic going around with some of the elders I know. Some have been hospitalized, some have had to go to assist living resistence for a while until they are well again. Sad. So I wanted alittle card to cheer them up! For the ladies, I put get together girly cards, using the CR84FN  color challenge. WHAT FUN!

Picture does not reflect the actual colors - again- wheres the new camera?

Trying to add some light -to reflect the grey and the other colors.

I am not sure what to make for the men..most of them are not into the wildlife, when I asked around, most of the replies I got from the guys were "chicks, send the guys some chicks.." I am pretty handy with the circle punches, they might get some chicks... Easter chicks that is... LOL.

Ingredients: CS: Pretty in Pink, Pale Plum, Grey
Stamps: Vintage Vogue
Micro beads (center of flowers), scallop oval punch, oval punch,
dimensional, rhinestones

Have a great day!

Thinking of You Cherry Cobbler

{insert giggle to the title name} Doesn't Cherry Cobbler sound delicious? It makes me want to go bake.. of course, it would be apple crisp and not cherry cobbler since fall is upon us! Oh it made me giggle! Maybe I have Cherry on the brain, since I am to head to Traverse City next weekend - and it is the Cherry capital of the world.. Maybe? Just maybe!

Here is my thinking of Cherry Cobbler:

Simple, layers of Vintage Vogue flowers, with rhinstones in the center... just alittle added bling.
I used only River Rock and Cherry Cobbler. I am happy with the turn out!

Pretty in Pink

One of my all time favorite movies is PRETTY IN PINK - 1986, and yes I was old enough to watch it and understand it, and LOVED IT.. still do! So everytime I see the SU! Pretty in Pink colors- I am reminded of this movie. If you haven't seen it.. Its great, check your local listings and I am sure it is on TNT or TBS sometime in the near future.. It always is... but I degress.. I loved that Molly Ringwald made her clothes. She didn't care what the latest trends were, she did her own thing. I loved Duckie, played by Jon Cryer, who I had friends like, but didn't realize it until after high school. We cannot forget the bad boy/heartthrob Andrew McCarthy... he was awesome.. oh and James Spader who played that rich boy... OK OK ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!...

So I look at these colors and I am reminded of a movie, and long story short, this Color Combination just spoke PRETTY IN PINK movie to me...

Here it is:

Stamps: Great Friend, Vintage Vogue, Perfect Punches
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Marina Mist, Certainly Celery
Ink: Marina Mist, White, Certainly Celery
Scalloped border punch

Thanks for Stopping by! Have a great day!!!

HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY!!

You may recall Ren and Stimpy... cartoon characters that ran around saying "HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY"... well that is the sort of mood that close of the work week has given me! .. and receiving some very good news as well.

First lets get to the HAPPY CARD

I love the crisp look of the River Rock (which I am super glad I can use my hidden stash again) with the Cherry Cobbler and Marina Mist. I used the Vintage Vogue Stamp set with Whimscial Words sentiment to add just alittle saying. I cut out the flowers that are in River Rock and Marina Mist. I punched out a circle in Cherry Cobbler and then put Crystal Effects on it to make it pop.

I am so proud of this card.. even my 14 yo son gave it TWO THUMBS UP!!! WAHOOOO!!!

... as for the good news.. well.. it look like this time in July, my soldier and I wont have to SKYPE to see one another.. if you know what I mean!!!!!

HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY!!!

Stamp a holic...

Stamp a holics is a new design team lead by two great ladies - Carole'Anne & Sandi. I jumped on their first challenge since the colors were of great interest to me. Thank you Ladies! It was fun!

Todays card:

I handcut the blooms from the Petal Pizazz set, after they were stamped in Chocolate Chip & Razzleberry. The card base is Razzleberry, with layer of Chocolate Chip and Artichoke.

Some of the blooms are crunched up and adhered with glue dots. The Sentiment is from the new set Vintage Vogue & in Razzleberry- I really like it. I punched it out with the Modern label.

SSC146- Thinking of You

My version of the Sketch Challenge from Stamping 411

I used the Apricot CS (retiring soon) with the Melon Mambo. Never would have thought about them before, but it fell into place. I like the look of the colors together.

I did sponge the Rose with Pink Passion... not sure why. I think it was a mix up since I was going to use Pink Passion in the first place.. But that is ok, RIGHT?

Ingredients: Stamp Sets: Vintage Vogue, Kind & Caring thoughts; Melon Mambo & Apricot CS;Big Shot Flower Embosslit; Eyelet punch, Melon Ribbon, pink brad

Oh my Opulence..

Talk about a walk on the Vintage side. ... when I see this Orchid Opulence, I immediately think VINTAGE/RETRO... for whatever reason, I just imagine the smock dresses in these colors with the pearls and white aprons... silly I know.. but thats ok.

Here is the soon-to-be- vintage Orchid Opulence in the Vintage Vogue stamp set, with a tad of Eastern Blooms.

I added those tiny micro beads to the center of the flowers.

Have a great day!
Stamps: Eastern Blooms, Vintage Vogue, Upsy daisy; CS: Grey, whisper white, Orchid Opulence; Ink: Orchid Opulence; Micro beads- clear; Ribbon

Kraft, Coral, blush and Chocolate... literally

This was suppose to be a for a challenge last week or so. Just Add Ink Challenge 10.. using colors that I like, but never put them to gether.. so yes a challenge it was. I did come down with seasonal allergies that I must have just gotten for my 34th birthday... lovely by all means. I would take allergy meds and just crash. It got worse before better, and now I just have this cough that one would believe my lung was coming out! Its like croup.

HOWEVER, I had a visitor, and she picked up the card and was "AHHH pretty" and put it down. When she left, I went to photo it, and that is when I saw it... made me laugh.. I could cover it with another blossom, I still might.. in the meantime, it reminds me or two things... remove chocolate from Craft Cave, and second, the little one enjoyed my card.!!!!

Have a great day!

Ingredients: Vintage Vogue; Kraft, Close to Cocoa, Coral, Blush, half pearls

Bag of... flowers...

March is full of celebrations for me, so I try to stay on top of it, and then with Easter around the corner, I feel like I am not getting anything done but paper cuts (ha ha).

So here is my bag..which could host cards and envelopes, but I am not thinking that is what I am going with this time. This bag tutorial came from Patty Bennett . Easy peasy!

So what should I put in the bag, instead of cards/envies? I thought about candies? Maybe single serve coffees? Any suggestions, please leave me a comment and let me know. I am open to all ideas.

Ingredients: CS: Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, Whisper White & Curry. Ink: Curry, Dusty Durango, Garden Green; Rhineston brad, Soft Suede ribbon, eyelet border punch; wide oval punch; STAMP SETS: Vintage Vogue, Vintage Labels

Vintage Razzleberry

So - I am on my way out the door and had less than 10 minutes to spare when I remembered, I didn't get a chance to put together for todays post. I just received some new "rubbah" - I received my second set of new Clear mounts from Stampin Up!- so what better way to try the out! I grabbed the CD case of Vintage Vogue, some markers that were on the desk, along with CS that was sitting there already scored and probly for a project I was about to start..
I decided that I would see what I got done over lunch, and take it from there. Here is todays card:
Vintage Vogue in Rich Razzleberry on Sage..
not bad for a lunch time card -huhh?

Yes, the Hello comes from the Hello Again set, that I found in the car, on the floor. Must have dropped out of the bag from yesterday, since I had hoped I would get a card started while I was away (note that didn't happen).

Ingredient: Vintage Vogue & Hello Again, stamps; Rich Razzleberry & Moss green Marker;Sage & whisper white CS.

HAPPY MONDAY!
And most of all, HAPPY MARCH!!!
