Happy Housewarming!

A friend of mine recently built and moved into a new home... actually they did this in March, but I haven't been there since "LIFE" has been in the way. I am going Friday, so I thought I better start now and get prepared - so NO excuses when Friday rolls around.

 I actually received a card with this layout, so I cased it, since I was getting nowhere with other sketches I was attempting.  Thank you Kim Howard.

 

Stamping the Fabulous Florets with basic black on Tangerine Tango, cutting them out and using dimensional made them just Pop on the card. It was awesome that I had a housewarming stamp, since its in Party Time, so it all came together well!

 If you remembered, I used this card, as a basic format for a set of cards I recently made. It started to grow on me. So I used it for a few mothers day cards with it too. 

 

The sentiments are not SU! but they are classy and meaningful.  These cards are super fast and I love to have the blank ones in my stash for any occasion. 

How many of you really mail out the cards you make anyway? I was looking over my stash - in which, man o day, if I do challenges, rarely do I send them. But club cards get mailed.. how weird is that? Oh well.

Where does fit in the name of the stamp set?  Huh?

Well I have been swamped with memorization keys with my daughter for class, and everything I look at I seem to mumble the definition... do you think I need a break yet?  HA HA ...   In the meantime, I used a page from the catty to give me inspiration for lay out - since I think this ORNATE stamp was being neglected. (its stamped behind the florets)

I used the color challenge from this weekens Color Throwdown.  I have literally 2 sheets of Barely Banana left, that I dug our of the scrapbooking pile! Lucky that is where I keep some of the retired colors, so they are out of site, but not totally gone!

 So now you take YOUR turn and play with the team!  Now I am shopping for this sheet set!

Birthday Splash



Playdate Cafe

 Gearing up for the birthdays that I have late February, and March, I thought I better stay clean and stay fun! I often make a card, and immediately send it, this time I wanted to be able to make a few items and then have 'ready to send'. Today is no different.

I used the Play Date Cafe Challenge with the black white and splash of HOT PINK, and it was sponsored by Twinery... they are fun! Its very useful  no matter if you are making card, or box or food item!!

I love the stem of the Fabulous Florets in black, on white. Using the 5 petal punch for the 3d flower in  Melon Mambo can just pop! I have 7 layers of cardstock that I inserted a brad to and then crumpled them up towards the top and slowly allowed them to fall down as they dried.

CASE ... Mary Brown...

The  Challenge... CASE (copy and share everything)...HMMMMMMMM....
I adore quite a few people ... but I have been eyeing up this card for quite some time!

 I used Crumb cake as my base, with the Pumpkin Pie striped ribbon. The Espresso  Bakers twine is wrapped at the top. I believe Miss Mary used the Perfect Pennant die - which I do not have - so I used the large scalloped circle, then punched tiny holes in the scallops.   The Fabulous Florets cut out was actually in my stash for another project... WIN !!!!

Now if I can get her to share the secret of laying the ribbon down after its gathered - that would be fantastic!!!  I love the way it came together... simple and easy! .. expect to see more of this later!

Fabulous Birthday GG!

It was my Grandmothers birthday recently... she's spending it at the beach... cannot blame her right? ... heck if we all could spend out birthdays there...I just wonder why I didn't offer to take her down myself???.

I thought this was cheery and special - just like Grandma herself! 

I really had to hold back on not getting all crazy with popping flowers everywhere since they are so cute! Who doesn't like Fabulous Florets?   I love the color Challenge that the Playdate Cafe gals put together... it actually made me hungry!  I had to get a snack before I put this together !!!... and it was a delicious canteloupe... I may have ate some watermelon since I knew I couldn't have the sorbet... but how tempting is that inspiration photo!!! Goodness!!! 

The Playdate Cafe has a new design team ! Isn't that exciting? I love to see new artists! It keeps me on my toes! and my mojo flowing!!  Go ahead- make a Date with the girls! You won't be sorry!

Flower Floret

Like I said yesterday, I had gone and looked up some color challenges to get me back into the groove. I am still not wiping out the cards in which I need but this has me smelling the paper fibers and getting inky!

Here is a Fabulous Floret from the Summer Mini  (again May 1).  I used crystal effects for the flower, after I cut it out.

I saw this layout and I thought I would use it!
