Calling all Mothers

whether its to kids, animals, or to friends - all of us have a bit of "mother" in us.  This is my non-typical Mothers day card. I like the feel of it... It still celebrates the occasion - without being too "mom" like.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!

Speaking of mothers, this weekend was packed full of items that only a mother would be able to accomplish at once.   First, Senior Prom, Friday night youngest son. Pictures may follow. Then up to Berklee College of Music, Boston for college graduation, of oldest son. Then back home for Rugby game, (daughter) & Mothers day celebration, while youngest son attends last drill before AIT departure in June. This wasn't good juggling for a man, by the way.
(wink wink)

Thank you for stopping by. Have a fantastic day!  Hug the ones you love!

Card Box Craze

I thought I would share some of my card box that is of the latest trend. The first one I made was for a former co-workers birthday. She loved it!  I have to say I was pretty happy with it too!

Then I thought I might has well get some ready for Mothers Day, since its going to be a busy next few days and I do not want to forget to get them in the mail.

Thats right, I can mail them!  Templates for the standard size envelopes are everywhere, and the fact that it take more time to decide on decorations for the inside then putting the project together itself is just awesome!

Have a great day!

Happy Mothers Day!

$20
says the disappearance of this card from my cave will be because my daughter snuck it out for her and her brother to use for today....any takers???

How would I know this... because SHE recommended using the Daffodil delight when I completed the Coral card... yeah, I am on to her!!!

Thats the best part of making cards... you rarely make cards you wouldn't want to receive yourself. I just get to be lucky enough to receive one! ha ha.

So here is to all your mothers out there...

 HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!!

Do what you want today...
 even if that is nothing!!!

Have a great day!

I hope that when ppl look at me - they see alittle you...

If you remembered, I used this card, as a basic format for a set of cards I recently made. It started to grow on me. So I used it for a few mothers day cards with it too.

The sentiments are not SU! but they are classy and meaningful.  These cards are super fast and I love to have the blank ones in my stash for any occasion.

How many of you really mail out the cards you make anyway? I was looking over my stash - in which, man o day, if I do challenges, rarely do I send them. But club cards get mailed.. how weird is that? Oh well.

Have a great day!

Two for Thursday... flowers for mom

Not many holidays go by when in the process of making cards, I do not break out some punch art of one sort. I really try to stay clear.. but sometimes I just cannot help it.  When I was cleaning up and reorganizing my craft cave, I found some of these fusion flowers laying around. It sparked an idea that transformed two cards for mothers day!

When I put them on the Very Vanilla, it just popped right out. I fixed my pearls to match, and then layered some Wild Wasabi  with the Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler.

When I put another set on the Crumb Cake, with just a small amount of Cherry Cobbler, it gave another look that I liked, just not as bright.

Lets hope as I continue to reorganize the room I can continue to find more goodies like these!!

Thanks for stopping by!

OH MOTHER!!!!

Mothers day is quickly approaching and I will be out of town, so I needed to mail my card to my mother, which translates to making a card for her!!! Oops!

What I love most about this card... besides the Coral color, and the Bordering Romance set, is the sentiment in the middle. ..it reads
You have been my inspiration,
my confidante, my friend.
Because of you I've learned to love, to forgive
and to live
a life filled with purpose

While I have been  absent from my blog, I still have been touching rubber... just in a sad, sorting kind of way... With the new 2012-2013 SU! catty revealed June 1, they have quite a retirement list.  I sorted my retired stamps, and sadly will miss a handful of them dearly. So 100s... HUNDREDS of stamps are ready to find themselves new homes... to be loved, be inked, and enjoyed!

With this being said, it was time to get my other retired stamps out of the way... I am talking stamps that I have owned since 1998. YES! I was a stamper then too! For sentimental reasons, I cannot seem to part with my first SU! foam stamp set.  Oh well!

Thank you for stopping by!

Have a fabulous day!!

Time for Tealight holders

OK, so maybe its just time I get some stuff done. To my defense, I spent the last few days before my surgery, visiting a friend of mine in South Carolina, participating in a 4 mile Beachathon and then road tripping it home.. with ZERO FAT consumed in my diet... yes, and you can think "Oh how bad can it be?"... not a LOWFAT DIET... A NO FAT DIET.. not even the GOOD FATS!! .. Let me tell ya, it wasn't pleasant, but I made due.. now I am going through recovery and its still not pleasant... after all, I would like to say I usually eat pretty CLEAN anyways.. but not even the good fats.. it was TOUGH! ... I am getting better.. every day.. a new day!
If we can rewind a bit, on Mothers day, I came home from the weekend with my kids at the shore to have my sister drive me to the hospital, since I couldn't shake this ill feeling I had with EVERYTHING I ATE and really drank.. so there wasn't much of a Mothers Day for my mom, or my sister that drove me to the ER at 5 pm, but I have for you their belated gifts.

And now the tealights holders:

The tealights weren't totally ready for photos but I had to get them while I remembered. They are really easy to make, and while I would like to say I will make a few more.. it will be done when I have a bit more time on my hands.
Tealights holders: Galvanized sheeting (for roofing); Big Shot Flower Folds, crystal effects
Mothers Card: The Stampin Up! Success Magazine had a clock in it using some of the new colors, with all sorts of flower punches.. I duplicated the look for a card, using some soon to be kissed goodbye- colors!

Thanks for coming back to look!!!
