Happy You!

Sadly, I have been waiting to use the Happy you stamp set and I am not sure what I have been waiting for!   I couldn't resist just a sweet little simple card and with the help of THREE challenges, I think I managed it!

The rain showers decided to arrive when I was in the midst of taking pictures, so I am sorry they are alittle dark!

Stampin by the Sea is doing Tuesday Color Challenges on her facebook page. I found the colors to be beautiful and couldn't wait to try them.

For once I can play with the Paper Players - usually I miss their challenges and am so happy to join in the fun!

Last, I recently stumpled across Unscripted Sketches, and am happy to say I love the CAS sketches I have found. HOW FUN!!!

Two for Thursday... flowers for mom

Not many holidays go by when in the process of making cards, I do not break out some punch art of one sort. I really try to stay clear.. but sometimes I just cannot help it.  When I was cleaning up and reorganizing my craft cave, I found some of these fusion flowers laying around. It sparked an idea that transformed two cards for mothers day!

When I put them on the Very Vanilla, it just popped right out. I fixed my pearls to match, and then layered some Wild Wasabi  with the Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler.

When I put another set on the Crumb Cake, with just a small amount of Cherry Cobbler, it gave another look that I liked, just not as bright.

Lets hope as I continue to reorganize the room I can continue to find more goodies like these!!

Skating Saturday

It might be the 3 of December, and I look pretty good on my Christmas goodies to purchase, but I am way behind on my cards, cookies/baking and decorating. I decorate the tree like I imagined I would. I didn't even look to see if I have enough flour and sugar to start baking. I did however pull all my Christmas stamps out and look at them so I could begin the task.

I fell in love with the idea of ice skates. In my little world, I someday be able to skate without issue, however I know the hard truth .... its not likely to ever happen. Its my handicap! I do admit it!

I used the polkadot and the Northern Flurry embossing folder for the backgrounds. I sprayed some Vanilla Smooch Spritz on the Northern  Flurry and skates.

I punched the skate blades out with half the Word Window punch, I used part of the Snowflake punch for the connectors on the blade. The Stocking punch in Crumb cake for the bottom of the skate and then the skate itself. I pierced the area where you tie up the laces.

In Flight

I promise these are the last of the butterflies for a while. ... ok maybe I should not make that promise.. but I will try.. to wait for a little while... I cannot quite seem to get into the Easter bunny making theme yet! I guess it will come to me - or not!  I have seen plenty of items for inspiration.

Doesn't this look SOFT? I mean - that fuzzy bunny made me want to crawl back under my blanket with a book and read, afterall, its been crazy raining with occasional sunshine around here lately!  It begged me play along with them at Stampin' Celebration

I really wanted to create SOFT.. I wanted to have the look of clean too! ... so my take is this:

Concentrating on the GREEN & PINK against the WHITE cardstock gave a look that I can use for many types of occasions.  In the meantime, I couldn't stop thinking about that bunny's BLUE ribbon... it was SHINY and calling my name... so I made one last card for it... of course, I had to use the butterfly embosslit AGAIN!!!...

I-RISH

My family hails more GERMAN, than others, but my mother swears we have some Irish hertitage in us as well.. nonetheless, I do not recall ever making a big deal about the holiday... maybe had a few Guiness with the friends after a day at the office, or made something alittle Irish for dinner.. but not much else.

NOT this year... OH HECK NO!.. we are pushing out 12 St. Patricks Day cards, and a few 3D items - and I learned that I will be seeing Henry Rollins on  the BIG DAY, this year! WAHOO!!!! I only know him from being in the Black Flag punk rock group.. and then I grew up, had kids... you know the drill, so I do not know much of what hes been up to lately!

I stumbled upon this blog - HERE and I knew I could do this... its using the Two Step Bird punch!  HECK she even gives the secret to keeping all the petals the same size... LOL.. {{ Yes this means, she gives instructions- so then I do not have to!!}}. I had to improvise some of the colors she used, since the lilac is retired, I used pale plum, but I still love what it did!

I really love this card. If I cannot duplicate it again, I am keeping it for me! LOL. I didn't have much for the holiday stamps, so I did use some funky fonts from the computer to print on the Whisper White.

Leave me some love... comments and you may later see a "pot o gold"... right?
