Warmest holiday thoughts

I have said before, I love the look of designer paper but it often intimidates me. I saw a card by Jen Sannes ( http://www.simpleandsincere.com) in which I like the layout and she used a different DSP than I had, but I knew I could CASE this. I used different sentiments and paper, but I thank you Jen for helping me get thru my 'what am I going to do with this funky design paper?' question. YEA ME FOR GETTING OVER ANOTHER 'HUMP'!

Thank you for visiting.

Its that time of year again...

Where everyone in the office is red nosed, and carrying around a box of tissues. Cold/ flu season... I have to knock on wood, and count my blessings as I haven't been hit, this time around. My kids have alittle bit of it, but its almost over.

This stamp set is retired from SU! But I like it and get alot of use from it. I do not remember the actual name of the set, but its got this cute little band aid with it, that I use for OUCHY's... I have some scraps that I need to get used up and just threw this together. Simple but yet to the point. On the inside there's a slot that is the home of a soup packet. What you cannot really see, is the "Sorry to hear you are under the weather" sentiment that the camera didn't focus on.

Thank you

There are days when I can't create whether its due to kids activities, or life's unexpected events, but I know we all have them. I made this card a while ago, when I was feeling alittle burnt out.

I like it. I know that I need to zip it a notch, but I like it.

Boxes of Chocolate!!!

OK, so when I first looked at this tutorial, I was thinking... the boxes were bigger... then I made them and they are too damn cute!!!! Easy peasy!!!
I got the tutorial off the Splitcoaststampers and honestly think this may have been easier than the matchbox candies I recently did.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

I am on fire...

Ok, I am not exactly, but I made matchbooks for my daughter swim team and there are enough that I could be on fire... while I was cutting paper, and cutting more paper .. I did have to sing part of the "Come on baby light my fire" song.. but I only know a few lines.
She has divisionals on Saturday February 14, and their school colors are red and white... so its very fitting!
These are easy to make... CS cut 3 x 7; score at 1/2, 3 1/2, 4. Staple the 1/2 after fold (this gives you the books appearance, then fold at scored lines, and the larger flap can be decorated.
Thanks for looking.

Faux Watercolor

I wasn't sure how I would like this faux technique, and may have not done it per the directions, but lets just call it MY version.

I colored the Upsy Daisy with markers, spritzed it with water, stamped it out and then punched it with this enormous Marvy scallop punch that I borrowed from a friend.

I found this Rust paper in a bin, and used it with the Ruby Red textured card stock on the side. The 'thank you' was cut using the corner of the tag punch. Gave it alittle flare. Doesn't make it look like to cluttered but the straight cut wasn't doing anything for the card either.

I think this "watercolor technique" brings the looks of the card to another level. It was pretty easy to duplicate. I put together a set of these (with different sentiments) to be raffled off for a church gathering.

AH- Choo !!!

Bless you! Its something that I have been saying constantly in the office for atleast two weeks. Not sure if its the weather changing, allergies or something in the air, but there have been signs of the first colds/sinus issues of the 'colder' months all around. I even remembered to bring in another box of tissues for the office, and the old staples - cough drops, tea, soups for lunch, etc.

Get out the chicken soup, the tissues, maybe some ginger tea and curl up in a blanket, its that time of year.

I haven't really used this set as much as I wish I would, it paints a cute card.

Apple a day...

With crisp mornings like today, nothing truly means "fall" than getting apples from the orchard. OK..may be the turning of the leaves, the falling of the leaves, but hey.. you get what I mean! The family has a few traditions... one that my sister and I got to 'take over' and enjoy... I guess if the term ENJOY means slaving away, coring, peeling apples and pears for sauce... yummmmmmmm apple sauce, apple dumpling, apple pies, crisp... do I need to continue? Long hours but worth every drop of sweat put into it.
