Bring on the birthdays!

A few masculine birthday cards I got to put together while it was raining over the weekend.

I really like this one - its settle and warm...

I used some of the Washi tape that I had sitting around the craft cave, since I found that I wasn't using it as much as I thought I would (doesn't everyone?)

.. and because I would like to get some new DSP but feel alittle guilty with the stuff I currently have unused, I made these two cards the same - just on two ends.

Serene Birthday

A masculine birthday card for my BIL. Quickly put together so it could be mailed off. I really like the way it turned out though I wasnt sure if it needed something else.

I used the Serene Silhouttes with marker. Layered it on Early Espresso with  sentiment from Birthday Wishes. Using some DSP for a pop.

Thanks so much

It was a weekend full of activities for the entire house. No official fireworks were seen by the naked eye.. just some over the all the social media. We enjoyed many picnics, without eating too much! I even was able to squeeze in some black raspberry pickin. Alot of fun. Now its back to reality.

My husband received some books by a friend and I put together this masculine card for him to send out. I have a hard time with some keeping it simple - so I hope the many layers and the brads push it thru the post without extra postage (wink wink).

Masculine Birthday

I put a few masculine birthday cards together, because looking at the calendar of events, I may not have the chance to beable to play in the craft cave.

I used the Woodgrain Embossing folder for the background and then added 1/2 inch strips of retired DSP before adding the sentiment from Express Yourself.

Clean and simple... great for any man!

Fishing Buford

Fishing Buford is from  North Coast Creations - which makes the perfect little fishing card for any man in my life. However I have the most difficult time getting him on a card I like. . . so for the Bloggers Challenge it was to have something masculine... so here it is...

I attempted to use the colors in the Colour Q- however fitting in the Soft Sky was only the Fishing rod and the sky.. but I still love it all!

Flying High

Just a quick card before the scorching weather has chased me out of the craft cave.

A few masculine cards needed for while my son is away at Basic Training... trying to get started before time gets away from me... its a little more emotional than I thought, but very proud.

Using this stamp set received from Kim Howard, it makes the perfect manly card (which I lack greatly!). Using the colors from the Dynamic Duo pulled it all together quickly!

Manly Birthday!

When I saw the Dynamic Duos challenge, I really thought two things - masculine birthday and fathers day... then I got creating I stuck with the birthday but thought... hmmmm with all this "Nirovirus" going around, instead I made a get well card.

First up is the birthday card. I used a technique in which you stamp your ink pad directly on the paper numerous times and many directions  (name escapes me)- I like the look and with some distressed edges - it comes together.

The bottom corner had two brads, that are kinda hiding, but I kept them.  The sentiment is from Full of Life.

The Get Well card that uses Really Retro, thats been retired for a while now. I like it though, keeps things simple! I used the Woodgrain impressions folder for the Big Shot, and added some twine under the Soft Suede cardstock.

CR84FN - Masculine

Its raining and miserably windy outside so I am staying in the craft cave when I can. I need to put together some masculine birthday cards for the month of October desperately... so I am hoping to at least get 4 completed before the beginning of the month.

I am slow when it comes to making masculine cards. Its not like I do not have the stamps! So matched up the colors from CR84FN with my first set of masculine cards. Birthday cards.

With combining  Crumb Cake, Marina Mist & Early Espresso, this does look manly already. I am making more of these with other others popped in (like the Marina Mist) - won't that create a manly card too?

Hopping by with a birthday HI

Little Forest Friends are going to be gone soon.
Its not that I even got to ink them up.. heck I still have some unmounted!

They make great masculine cards... fun for everyone really.

I  semi- CASEd the 2009 mini catalog  that first showcased this stamp set.
Yes, I must have the last 10 years worth of mini's, cattys and oh yeah, I look at them... they are great when you need names of stamps or ideas...

Have a great day!

In Wilderness

Getting back into the groove...

While on the weekend trip, I got to get some masculine cards completed. Since this is my downfall. I was quick to stamp off the In Wilderness stamps, so I have some images for later too!  This set I borrowed from Sheryl Dickinson.

I used paper that came in a cute 6 x 6 pack that Kim Howard loaned me. Afterall, she is a paper hoarder. I was just helping her out by using it!

I know we played around with a bunch of sketches, so I have no idea where this one was from.

I love the pop of orange, and super glad I used the orange twine as my accent too!

Manly Merry Christmas

My BIGGEST FAN.. my most HONEST COACH.. and my OTHER HALF... ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS wants my cards for whatever he needs... of course HE SHOULD!!!!...

He asks right after Thanksgiving.. not right after the big dinner, usually during the weekend that I am off my FT job, for his Christmas cards... he says" just do what you do.." and I always try to get just the right balance of masculine and holiday spirit.

This year I got it right - in two versions -

Version one:

Version two:

There are only 10 of these since I was running low on red buttons! The other version there is 20 cards, since I hoarded all the brushed silver brads in my stash! I got the idea from Tiffany Bauer. I changed the colors and didn't use ribbon, I used paper in Artichoke.

Its Birthday time!

So there are few birthdays arriving shortly... mine among the list, but I needed to get restocked at work, and at home. I needed some masculine type cards, and think I hit that with the design and the colors. Nothing out of the ordinary but Birthday cards for men!

I loved this ribbon - I love this ribbon so much I didn't want to use for anything but a masculine birthday card. I didn't know how I was going to incorporate the ribbon, but I like the way it turned out. Simple and basic, but yet, makes a masculine statement.

I really am to be working on a 50th birthday card for a friend in UK. I do not have the layout, or design or colors yet that I want... I mean, its her 50th birthday.... a big milestone... but as with everything else.. she's a simple gal.

Thanks for looking!
