Mr. Poppers Penguins ... almost

I had this great idea to use Penguins are a card, then they got too big for a card, so I thought they would make great tags... however the Penguin making got outta control! ... since I was making like 15!! (reminded me of Mr. Poppers Penguins movie).

I didn't know what use for eyes, and so I grabbed some google eyes I had left from Halloween, put they were too small, so I searched in the kids old craft making/project bin, and found larger ones, which made them come alive!

Arent they cute?  I used a few different punches: circle, modern label, oval, ornament, fancy flower. It was fun to put together, as notably, you cannot make just one!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day! Hug the ones you love!

Oh Deer!

What an exhausting night! I had planned my last minute card making for some of the gifts under the tree, but someone else had something else planned. I got home and learned that a stray pup (yes pup- maybe 10 weeks old) got hit by a car and hid under my shed. She was hurt (hind end but not sure how severe). When the humane society arrived, he poked it with a stick - couldn't get her out and left... after an altercation with the one neighbor, whose property borders mine. I guess, he was going to let her lie there and die - he said "well if she comes out, I can get her." ... well dang so can I, I thought! The local fire dept and police arrived about an hour later and worked their tails off to get her out - humanely and successfully- then a police officer took her to a vet in the local area - I hope she recovers and is able to be adopted out. But my heart still breaks for her.

In the meantime, I had remembered I did swap of sorts... so here is my little reindeer:

(cellphone picture- my apologizes for lack of clarity)

The ornament tag is fuzzy, I apologize. Itied it up with hempt on the Kraft ribbon.

Thank you for stopping by.. now here is hoping today is not as exhausting!

Tags Til Christmas Thursday

While I should have been making my Dad's birthday card... I put this together first.. so yea, go ahead -- pour the guilt on... like my daughters wasn't enough.... {{sigh}}

I wanted to try something slightly different for some of the card making class I would be holding - after getting it all put together, I am still undecided. I think I might keep them as my neighbors cards for the holidays though.

Inside first flap:

Isn't this Candy Cane DSP just darlin?

Inside the second flap - where the greeting will go at a later date.

Now I will work on his birthday card. He will get it on Saturday. Its those masculine cards I need to get motivated to do .. sometimes they are tough for me!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY- DEAR OLE DAD!!!!

Tulips! Take Two...

First of all, I know we are days away from Spring! I couldn't be happier! Especially knowing that I can see the greens to my tulips and daffodils coming up since all that nasty snow is gone!

So here are my tulips:

Late last night while the Crystal Effects was drying on the petals, I couldn't decide what else I wanted for this card. And then I knew it when I got up.. alittle friendship card.
So here is the Take Two on the Tulips, so before I ran out the door for work, I snapped this.

Ingredients: CS: Bermuda Bay, Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Old Olive; Two step bird punch& Ornament; Bermuda Bay Ribbon, Eggplant Ribbon, Crystal Effects & Rhinestones

Winter White Rosebuds B2S04

I have been enjoying the ornament punch from Stampin Up! even if Christmas is over. I started making these "rosebuds" in all sorts of colors... the photos do not show off the true beauty of the petals and I have added some sparkle to buds as well. I used 10 punches of Confetti white paper and bent the petals as I glued them.

This challenge # 4 for Bootstostamps (seen here B2S04) was no doubt easy with the pick from Botantical Art seen here. I chose the "Magnolia".. clean and simple... pure... elegant!

Thank you for looking and come join us!!!

Ingredients: SU! Ornament Punch - STILL AVAILABLE!!! HOORAY!!!
Confetti White CS, ice sparkle, silver & sheer ribbon, silver embellishment (inside the center)

EDITED 2/23/10: Added the Tutorial to the sidebar. Check it out!!!

Rose without her thorns...

OK, so this is the story... I had to be awake very early on a weekend when I should have been able to sleep my dearest self in... but really, is the 14 yo going to get up and eat, and be ready in time that is expected? EXACTLY.. not if you are actually going to be doing manual labor and its like 11 degrees outside. (not exactly but it felt like it).

I was up, coffee pot brewing, breakfast eggs almost complete - and something.. I do not know what it was... forces from beyond, forces me to the craft cave, and within moments I am inking cardstock that I had punched (with the retired ornament punch- dang it!!!).

TA DA...

Now before you get all crazy like.. OH MY GOSH THAT IS JUST A BEAUT... its so big, she doesn't fit into any envelope! ... LOL.. not even one I got a template for.. but in any case... here she is... her petals are just stuck in there since I cannot decide what I want there.. and of course shes alittle top heavy.. like me! LOL.

She has some friends, in red, white, and in apricot! - Where are they? you might ask.... hiding... they might be attached to gifts for mothers day... but enjoy her.. though you cannot have her - since after all, shes too big to travel! (shes retired, she would love to travel!LOL)

Closer view. I am so giddy about this, I had to snap shots with my phone and send to friends for viewing!

Happy hump day!
